sharpey1 Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 was just wondering who has got a T4 ?? Because I am picking mine up tomorrow.... Can't wait. I have been looking for about four months and I have found a decent T4 2.5tdi 88bhp 888 special X pack 87,000 miles on the clock and a fall VWSH and I have paid £4100 for it. I am finding that T4's are going for silly money and the x pack is getting harder and harder to find. So if you have a T4 or T5 it would be great to hear from you and if you have any pictures would be cool to see them Thanks stu Quote
crut Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 Yeah man we have one! Us T4 owners love to share pictures, hold hands and stuff! Enjoy the new ride! Quote
sharpey1 Posted May 22, 2009 Author Report Posted May 22, 2009 thanks mate. so what van do you have ?? Quote
crut Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 Go on then, I'll show you. Strictly speaking it is my wifes: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2302/2535933653_495130bd17.jpg It has a rock and roll bed/seat in the back, lowered and stuff. I don't really know the specifics - if it was mine I'd get it raised again mainly because it'll make the ride better on bumpy roads near beaches. Quote
spooky Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 Heres mine, cost a bit (ok a fair bit) more than yours, as got it last year But just coming up to 55k Need to sort out the inside and fit an intercooler, but its nice as it is http://photos-d.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-sf2p/v256/176/89/556065716/n556065716_3318499_623.jpg Jon Quote
sharpey1 Posted May 22, 2009 Author Report Posted May 22, 2009 why are you going 4 a intercooler cant you just get a remap ?? Quote
lazarus Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 you always to the mecanical work before you tweak the software. theres a good chance you'd need a remap after the intercooler any way so its pointless paying twice Quote
andrewjohn Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 Had mine 3 1/2 yrs now. Old 94 1.9D. Done 196000 miles and only just needed a replacement engine, due to blown head gasket, which with new cam belt, clutch, radiator etc cost more than the van did. But was worth it as the van's nice and solid. Plus I'd just converted it inside, with cupboards, R&R bed etc. Lowered 60mm, side windows etc. Love the T4's but a nice big hightop, LWB LT35 will be my choice of conversion next time. Quote

I saw you (or rather the van) a few weeks ago when I was in Brighton! I'm after a Suzuki Carry myself as I want to pimp it up for the mini T4 comedy-style van value. Anyone know where I can get one as I'm really struggling?! Quote
Paul_C Posted May 23, 2009 Report Posted May 23, 2009 Just wondering how much road tax some of you with the kombi vans are paying? I've been looking on some of the vw forums and there seems to be different views on wether you've got back seats in it or if the tail gate is glazed. Cheers? Quote

andrewjohn Posted May 25, 2009 Report Posted May 25, 2009 If anyones doing a conversion and wondering where one of the kids is going to sleep, well here's what I did today. Had been looking at making a hammock style bunk like the ones you can get for the T2's. Saw a £7.99 camp bed and did some pimping. All that was required was to chop about 8cm's off each end of the two poles. The metal 'legs' underneath are not supporting it, they just keep the bed rigid. The poles just rest on each side door. Much cheaper than buying purpose made ones. Quote
Noo Noo Posted May 26, 2009 Report Posted May 26, 2009 Oh yes Got mine, love it and I've actually got it into a position where I can comfortably sleep in it now. Oldie but a goodie. Small petrol engine, LPG conversion and a other few tweaks Quote
sharpey1 Posted May 26, 2009 Author Report Posted May 26, 2009 just doing 1 or 2 things 2 it at min Quote
