So it's looking like I'm going to have a good month and that allows me to at least consider a new kite...

But then the wise old head goes, Do you need another kite? Don't you have enough? I went and looked in the old kite bags (yep plural) and I find that there are 15 in there (+ the odd cheapy that shan't be counted) So maybe there are 2 questions...

1... How many kites do you have? :goplay: I'm figuring that EK is far enough away from 'other halves' to be a safe place to 'unload'

2... Is there another kite on the horizon? (for the dreamers and planers)

Suffice to say that I've got some nice gear. :derisive: I'm a bit philosophical about it all nowadays - a good top-tier kite should have appealing aesthetics and a unique character to its performance. If there's a kite out there like that, I just work out a way to buy it. They've all got their own "personalities", and I'm quietly confident that I can learn to fly different kites so as to bring out their strong points.

As for your other question, I've got a monochrome Deepspace on the way, as well as a Seven UL for final testing.

Everyone should have at least one Rev (heck, I've got 14!)

I haven't even counted the dual line kites recently

If you count my power kites in with the sport kites, I've got a bit over 20 all up.

But the number of sport kites is way down, only 6-7 off the top of my head.

More on the way?

I will not answer this question as it may incriminate me.

They are power kites though, so I can say, no. :)

I'm pretty sure the wife doesn't know about this forum so ... :diablo:

My old stunter, that started the madness ...

2 Revs (1.5 SLE and a PowerBlast 4-8) and now a Shockwave in the post.

5 fixed bridles but one was a birthday present for the wife. Honest.

7 arcs with a 12m Phantom in the post.

A Flysurfer Outlaw in the post :o

... and an Airush Lift 16m that I learned all about rigging, launching/landing, body dragging etc on. Doesn't count really does it :D

Kevin Kevin Kevin...

I have a job you know

Adding yet another set of skills onto my very shaky 'freestyle' stuff is just asking for trouble...

I'm hearing Yoda saying the words 'soup kitchen for you it will be'...

@ Steve- Ahhh The Fearless', the new 'Dark side's' if general gossip is to be headed ;) Although truth be known it was Barrasi and his Fearless Video that kicked my little obsession off, so I have a soft spot for them. And BTW if you need any leading edges 'worn in' on them just send em on up to sunny Vic :P

@ Nigel, I hear you mention such toys as your Dualies, but dude, I'm yet to see any of them :P , you trying to protect them from UV fading?

@ Cesium- Given you have a fine selection of 'tools' If you were to wear out a fav from your stable would you be an 'changer' or a 'replacer'?

@ Kamikuza Not sure what you mean by a 'fixed bridle' so I'm guessing SLK (Single Line Kite) So have you ever been tempted to try out a bit of dual line 'freestyle' flying? Not trying to convert, just curious :)

Hmm, must have a dozen or so, including a vented Rev (an absolute must have in these here parts)

I must admit im just not inspired regarding the current kites on the market, particularly those with a high price point.

The Cosmics, Sevens etc just dont get me reaching for the wallet.

Having said that, i had a real hankering for a Hydra when they came out and was lucky enough to get a custom.

Fixed bridle ... 2 and 4 line power kites.

I do a bit of landboarding when it's too cold kite to kitesurf, and do some Revving when there are people around or I'm supposed to be working and can't go back to the office sweating and bleeding :D

I only keep kites that I think highly of, so if one gets worn out then I do replace it ASAP. The worn/damaged one can become a "beater" kite in that case. It's a bit hard to replace things like Transfers though nowadays. :wall2:

Dave,

I've had my eye on these for a while....what do you think about yours (from your single flight ;)

cheers

steve

Its certainly a lovely kite Steve, it does everything i ask it to (so yes, its very forgiving)

I'll put it just a fraction below my No.1 kite the Talon.

Im kind of done now for standards, the Talon, Hydra, Soul, and a few others i have are more than enough in that department, it would take something pretty special to get me to buy another one at the minute.

Im always on the lookout for SUL's though, but i just dont see much out there that wont require me to re-mortgage the house to buy one AND be a proper SUL (not a over hyped "light" standard)

How's the 4D ?

:o

The duelies only get out when there's not enough for a buggy. :D

But with Autum and no wind season here, I'm about to dust off the indoor.

I haven't counted lately, but I've got a few bags full. And single line kites, a couple of foils...

The funny thing is that I only fly my Sea Devils and Fearless SUL lately, and am eagerly awaiting delivery of my Fearless vented light. We'll see if it can take the place of all the other kites...
