I found out yesterday that the school's blocked the site

 

Means i usually end up missing the 10am wind update lol

get youself a usb memory stick and put firefox portable on it, then plug that in your school pc and run firefox from there, that should get round any filters the school puts in place

However, some of the kiddies had started bringing flash games in on their USB's, so the friggin' admins blocked running .exe's and the like from anything external

 

 

In another example of their incompetence:

 

I was doing DT Systems & Control last year, and googled "Picaxe 18 where to buy", because I needed some for the project. In the search URL was, of course, "...picaxe+18+where+to+buy..."

 

So it blocked the search as well.

ah i see the problem there, my muisses runs firefox from her flash drive and it works fine, worth a try if nothign else, if its installed on teh drive then would it show as an .exe or just as something else?

 

if it does work then i suggest keeping it to yourself as this sort of thing can easily spread and they will do everything they can to ban you bringing flash drives in and useing them.

Hazmat and Simon G appear to be heading South of the markers needed to be left to starboard......I hope they know what they are doing.....

 

I on the other hand have messed about in the doldrums not checking the wind frequently enough and as such have lost all my places......more so that KITEBOYZA has overtaken me......grrrr

BIIIG north easterly tack for me - gonna lose a lot of places, but should have a long fast run in away from the islands!

Yes I know I need to be north of the markers but I hope to catch a southern ocean low pressure down south, who knows! There is still a long way to go. It will be good to see how you new hands do when we all start the next leg together!

i didnt want to try and get nprth and round the front of the low that is moving north so commited below it and should track driectly to the mark , a quick detour north round the mark then back down south straight away currently 967th so going ok at the mo anyway but i wont hold my breath!

Anyone else noticed that us kiteboarders are actually tacking? Big changes of dirrection going on. All the other yatchsman are more or less pointing the same dirrection the whole time
