Cyprino Posted March 1, 2009 Report Posted March 1, 2009 I've added everyone in the flexi group so i can see where everyone is, and now i've just found the results tab where i can monitor the group's progress. Doh!! Still, all good fun! I think i'm around 21st out of everyone at the moment Quote

DjMoz Posted March 2, 2009 Report Posted March 2, 2009 Okay back online properly, had a difficult weekend trying to get connected, I blame these mobile data cards. Okay, time to chase down Hazmat and Simong, I will be cruising by gizmo in the next 48 hours! Quote
TwistedAnimator Posted March 2, 2009 Report Posted March 2, 2009 Just joined - My boat is Saltyseadogg Quote
Gizmo Posted March 2, 2009 Report Posted March 2, 2009 Bring it on DJ..... Have you checked the forecast lately in the area????? Quote
Cyprino Posted March 2, 2009 Report Posted March 2, 2009 Gizmo, you appear to be heading into a pretty dead spot for wind over the next 36hrs If I stick with my current bearing I shouldn't hit anything below 17km/h Quote
MrPhill Posted March 2, 2009 Report Posted March 2, 2009 Gizmo, you appear to be heading into a pretty dead spot for wind over the next 36hrs I dont think im a million miles away from Gizmo either. I think im going to take a gamble, and just carry on heading the way i am at the mo. I may regret that decision in a couple of days time Quote
Gizmo Posted March 3, 2009 Report Posted March 3, 2009 Based on the amount of distance covered in 24/36 hours there is nothing you can do to avoid the lull. All you can do is steer the best course possible through it to make the most of the wind available and there is wind available but not much. Quote
Fairy Posted March 3, 2009 Report Posted March 3, 2009 I am going fo a huge tack away from the islands.... Quote
dubai_reddragon Posted March 3, 2009 Report Posted March 3, 2009 Hey fairy, good luck on your huge tack......I am just trying to get south as best as possible. Some of the biggest gains are those who went east at the start rather than south..... Only time will tell, it will be interesting for the next few weeks.....its so addictive now..... Quote
Maro Posted March 3, 2009 Report Posted March 3, 2009 I saw what Fairy is up to and thought it might be a good idea. Looks to be more wind to the east away from the shelter of the islands I'm hot on your heels Butt ! How can we check the whole forum group? Quote
dubai_reddragon Posted March 3, 2009 Report Posted March 3, 2009 Maro, you can check the group by clicking on the results tab and the select the flexi group.... what is your boat? Pete Quote
Maro Posted March 3, 2009 Report Posted March 3, 2009 Found it, cheers. I'm at the helm of Big Splinter Quote
wayne L Posted March 3, 2009 Report Posted March 3, 2009 how addictive is this now im not last in the group found a descent line along the island and getting ready for a big cross wind tack out to the open ocean over the next 24/36hrs Quote
Maro Posted March 3, 2009 Report Posted March 3, 2009 Have to admitt I'm starting to find it quite addictive. I keep checking my boats progress to find it's probably sailed about 20km or so since last time I checked. It's gonna be an interresting week or 2. Quote
wayne L Posted March 3, 2009 Report Posted March 3, 2009 i got hospital in 3 weeks to have a 3rd of my kneecap removed so i think i might have a couple of weeks to watch my boat progress lol:D Quote
Neptune Posted March 4, 2009 Report Posted March 4, 2009 woohoo I am climbing up the rankings within the Flexi group - keep watching your boat speeds guys - I am coming for ya!! Interesting next 36 hours of wind - just got to get down to the southern ocean for those real strong winds!! Quote
