mp35 Posted October 13, 2009 Report Posted October 13, 2009 Yey!! I get the keys to my new house on monday!!!:D Double excited! Indeed good news. Shout if you need extra hands for moving stuff. I'd offer transport too, but my car's only going to be good for a few small ornaments... Hmm ornaments... You don't strike me as the kind of person that's going to have too many of those? Quote

Oh he has ornaments... like kite pumps, kite repair kits... g0nz0, who's moving the "equipment" from the "other rooms"? oh, and not long untill the weekend ;-) Are you going to be ok on your own harley? Or would you like me to lend you a MAN's kite? Edited October 13, 2009 by avspider Quote

troy1599968664 Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 right guys quick question. at the southampton uni now. just wondering which bus services run to the best locations. could you give me some help on this. thanks again tristan Quote
mp35 Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 just wondering which bus services run to the best locations. Take a Bluestar 9 to Calshot, and catch up with the guys at Solent Sailboards at the activity centre, or visit their website http://www.solentsailboards.co.uk where you'll find the phone number. Though aimed at the wet end of things, they should be able to help you out with land info too, if you're nice. Quote
avspider Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 right guys quick question. at the southampton uni now. just wondering which bus services run to the best locations. could you give me some help on this. thanks again tristan Don't be tempted to fly on the common, it's the worst place to fly. You can fly @ Western shore, i'm sure Martin will let you know which bus to take? Or there's Lordshill, the large field behind the David Lloyd Lesuire, by the milbrook rugby club/cricket club pavilion. Or this weekend.... @ Westward ho! Quote
martin Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 WS has the best wind for boarding + a few ramps. Haven't a scooby's what bus you'd have to get though. I'll look for a number the next time i see a bus. Quote
martin Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 Is this wind going to pick up by the weekend:mad:. It blew enough for me to get a sneaky one in at WS this afternoon but that's all i've had all week. Quote
pieman1599968788 Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 whats the best direction for WS??? Quote
avspider Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 whats the best direction for WS??? I think it's SW Quote
Dan R Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 Best wind direction for Weston Shore is SW - SSW. As for buses, the only one I know if the No. 16 to Netley (get off at Grange Rd) then walk about a mile along the shoreline to the field. There is probably one that is closer that runs through Weston though! Got this week off work and theres been s$d all wind. Gutted. Might try LH on Friday afternoon though if it does pick up a little. troy1599968664 Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 i'm thinking i might have to get a landboard for the winter months. got my kiteboard and a thick wetsuit but im thinking that may still not be enough. would love to come over to westward ho but the gf is coming down to see me. is west shore an actually named place on google maps (can i have a look) or is it the name you guys call it. at mp35 thanks ill do that defo. troy1599968664 Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 well ive got my race bike so i could defo pop over to netley if there is some wind tomo. get the p3 out me thinks. which field is it, the one by the sailing club or is it literally on grange road? thanks for the info though much appreciated Quote
Dan R Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 Troy - sorry for the poor quality screen shot but you get the idea of where WS is! Along this water front I've seen guys kite surf too. Quote

martin Posted October 15, 2009 Report Posted October 15, 2009 Got this week off work and theres been s$d all wind. Gutted. Might try LH on Friday afternoon though if it does pick up a little. Same as me:(. I did manage an hour yeaster PM though. No wind today either.......Gutted. whats the best direction for WS??? For runs the length of the field a SSW will be spot on. If you're into freestyle & can work in confined spaces then it's useable from SE through to W. (Clockwise) My Mrs. reckons a 17 & 17a goes down Weston lane & will stop either side of the roundabout which will be a 5 min walk. Also thinks a 6 will stop there as well. Quote
