us and begoman looking at flying a bit sunday, how was LH?

Wet! The ground is soft under foot in places, makes sliding around fun thats for sure!

Now that I now where it is, I may give it another go tomorrow, but looking at the wind I may try WS as its only up the road.

QP had frozen snow on it & no wind:mad:. Boards wouldn't have worked but buggies may have if we had the wind they were predicting.

We left about 12.00 & went to Ports Down Hill. It was really blowing up there & talk about lifty:eek:. Really floaty wind as it travells up the hill:cool:. The Zenith was above your head & behind you which felt odd as i thought the kite was going to luff each time but it didn't. Being lofted & travelling backwards isn't too comfortable either:eek:.

This is going to be my destination in N'thly winds from now on.

WS should be good today, i might come down this afternoon if i get the chance

Don't bother going out at the moment, Rich (bego dude) has just called and said barly wind to even get a windometer spinning at LH! So staying inside, well i might do some DIY.

The 10m rm+ will fly in this, as will the 8/7/6/5, but i don't fancy getting huge kite's wet and dirty.

That was good fun yesterday.:D I think PDH is really the only place worth going round here in a Northerly.

For anyone thinking of going though ......... it's quite a small field, not really big enough for any buggy action and only 2 or 3 landboarders max. You also need to keep well upwind and give yourself plenty of space for error - or else you'll end up in the car park!

Hey all,

Just in case you've not seen this over on the SEKA forum ........

I've just found out today that the Port Solent fields are at risk of development. Not 100% sure exactly what the development plans are yet but apparently there's a sign near the fields somewhere - I'll go and have a look over the next few days.

Anyway, there's a residents association who are trying to get the fields classed as a 'village green' in order to save them. Please have a look at the web site (address below) and fill in the form to show your support and help save one of the only unrestricted flying sites we have in the Portsmouth area.

http://www.portsolentgreen.co.uk

Even if you don't fly there or don't like flying there, as a member of the kite flying community I'm sure you can appreciate the importance of helping save this site.

Cheers all,

Steve.

Steved - Done mate, we got Mudeford to be left alone by force of public opinion. Got about 300 signatures. Start a thread in the beach zone & ask the Mods to sticky it so it stays at the top where people can see it;) Chuck the same thread on Face Book in all the kite sections, its amazing how may people will have used PS at some point...:) Start a group to save the place & invite everyone, thats a really quick way to gather names.

I posted my first try at a kitesurf vid to Vimeo, the session was naff (ran out of wind), but the footage is interesting.
