  1. There is a small field on Portsdown hill that's ok in a northerly, just to the left of the Churchillian pub. It's very small though and gets a lot of dog walker traffic. If you do try it then make sure you stay up wind as you don't want to end up in the car park if you wipe out. The bottom (north) half of the field is unusable as the grass is too long, but the top half is ok. Best place to setup is where the two halfs of the field meet, & then stay as close to this when flying as possible. The other thing is that you'll be flying on a slope, which can be good fun but takes some getting used to. You'll find your kite flys further overhead than usual and you'll be cutting very hard into the wind; as upwind is downhill! There's a meets thread for this in the Hampshire section on the SEKA forums (Welcome to SEKA an open group of kiting enthusiasts). Post up if you're thinking of going & I'll meet you for a fly if I'm free.

  3. There is no right answer to this. Unfortunately, you can guarantee that whichever one you go for there will always be conditions where you wish you had gone for the other. There's no such thing as a one kite quiver and so you probably ought to think a bit more long term and ultimately plan on getting two or three kites to cover all the wind conditions/speeds that you will want to fly in. & Plummet is spot on - the wind ranges on the Flysurfer web site are guides only and the kites can generally be handled in slightly higher winds. & even then the wind range is mostly down to the individual rider - depending on how powered they like to ride and how big their kahonas are! There are people out there that are able to handle certain size kites in much higer winds than someone else could. When you plan to buy the kite may also be a factor, as will whether you have any other kites or not. If you're buying now then you may want to consider starting with the 12m, as winter winds are generally stronger. But if you're not going to get it until next year (spring or summer) then you may be better off starting with the 15m. & what other kites do you have? - if you already have something to cover high winds (e.g. 25mph+) then you may as well go for the 15m first. But if you currently have low wind kites then go for a 12m. Anyway, I've got both 12m & 15m Speed DLX. So if you want to try then give me a shout as I fly in & around the Portsmouth area - Port Solent mainly. I should be there tomorrow evening (from about 18:00), Friday afternoons (from about 13:30) and occasionally at the weekend. To see if I'm going to be out you can either PM me or have a look on the SEKA forums. I know we PM'd about this a while back & I've not been very good about posting up if I'm going out, but I'll make sure I make the effort from now on. Or, get in touch with ATBShop (ask for Marcus) and they can probably hook you up with either Abe or Chris, who are both ATBShop riders who fly Flysurfers and are local-ish to the area.
  4. Hey! Thanks for the offer, but the transaction is all going fine & the kite is being sent to its new owner very shortly. Just out of interest - where do you fly? Port Solent us one of my local spots. Not seen any other flyers down there for a while now.
  5. Ok, so lots of views, but no real interest - it's either 'cos no-one wants a 6m Access II, or the price is too high - so anyone want to make me a sensible offer?
  6. Ozone Access II 6m RTF - SOLD (Pending Payment) Looking to sell my 6m Ozone Access II as it no longer suits my flying style (I'm now into buggy freestyle) & I'm just not using it any more - far better for it to go to a good home & get used than sit in my spare room doing nothing. The Access II is a superbly stable low lift high wind kite. Excellent in high winds for either cruising or blasting around in the buggy, or as a high wind landboard kite. Although it is a low lift kite it is absolutely possible to get air if you want to. Anyone who's been on KC for a while may remember a guy called 'Spooky' who used to jump with one of these on a landboard. Anyway, it will also suit beginners for landboarding or buggying due to it's superb stability. If you’re interested then please either PM me on here, email kiting@scdnet.co.uk or contact me on Facebook if you’re in my friends list. Price: £190 posted (DHL) SOLD (Pending Payment) Photos (click link) >>> Access II 6m | Facebook Owned by me from new. The kite is in very good condition and the cloth is still crispy and clean. There is one very small repair which is a small patch (using the standard Ozone repair material) applied from inside the cell to cover a couple of very small pinprick holes. See the photos in the link above. To be honest the patch probably wasn't even needed. This absolutely doesn't affect flight at all - the kite flies beautifully. The bar and lines are also in very good condition with a little wear and fading as would be expected on a used kite. All the standard bits - bag, manual, repair kit, safety leash, etc, are also included.
  7. A 'get back up there' bump.
  8. Morning bump to the top.
  9. Bump to the top! The 8.5 is such a sweet kite! - powerful, stable, lifty, predictable. & I'm chucking in a brand new (unopened) set of Prolink handles too!
  10. Bump to the top! I named my price but how about some offers? I'm open to a wee bit of negotiation - as long as it's sensible! ;-)
  11. Flexifoil Blade IV 8.5 RTF - SOLD Looking to sell my Flexifoil Blade IV 8.5 as I'm moving to depowers which suite my riding style and flying location better. If you’re interested then please either PM me on here, email kiting@scdnet.co.uk or contact me on Facebook if you’re in my friends list. Price: SOLD Photos (click link) >>> Blade IV 8.5 | Facebook Owned by me from new. The kite is in very good condition with no rips, nicks, tears or repairs and the cloth is still crispy. There are a few light marks on the cloth (as shown in the pictures), but this doesn’t affect flight at all - it flies beautifully. The handles are Flexi prolink's. If you’ve ever used Prolinks you’ll know the 'rubber' coating does wear a bit. The ones shown in the pictures with this 8.5 are quite worn mainly on the tops (as shown in the pictures), but I'm now also including an additional brand new (unopened) set of Prolink handles as well (worth £30). They also have a Flexifoil strop fitted. The bag is ‘as new’ – never used. Manual, stickers, etc, are also included. The Blade IV 8.5 is an absolutely awesome low wind kite - especially good in a buggy. Some people seem to be scared of these kites, but if flown in lighter winds they are more predictable than smaller kites (there's much more chance of getting spanked by a small kite in high winds than a large kite in low winds!) and a real joy to fly. To be honest, I'm worried that I may regret selling this kite, as I love flying it so much. But as I mentioned before, I need the money to fund a new depower.
  12. Flexifoil Blade IV 4.0 RTF - SOLD Looking to sell my Flexifoil Blade IV 4.0. Selling as I need to fund some new depowers which suit my riding style and flying location better. If you’re interested then please either PM me on here, email kiting@scdnet.co.uk or contact me on Facebook if you’re in my friends list. Price: SOLD Photos (click link) >>> Blade IV 4.0 | Facebook The kite is in very good condition with no rips or repairs and the cloth is still nice & crispy. It does have a couple of ‘snag’ marks where the bridles caught on the cloth when it bow-tied (as shown in the pictures), but this hasn’t needed repairing (no risk of holes getting bigger or tearing) and hasn’t affected the flying at all. Other than that the cloth is in very good condition and the kite flies beautifully. The lines are flexi extremes & are in excellent condition, as are the Flexi Prolink handles. There is also a Flexifoil strop attached. The bag is ‘as new’ – never used. Manual, stickers, etc, are also included.
  13. ^^ sorry, the 4.9 & 6.5 have definitely gone. But seriously, the 8.5 is a fantastic kite & not at all scary in the lower winds. To be honest I'm happier flying the bigger blades in lighter winds than the smaller blades in high winds - its the smaller kites that tend to spank you! Take your eye off them & they can whip across the window before you know it. Larger kites are much more forgiving! Anyway, closing ceremony bump to the top!
  14. Saturday night it's time time for a beer bump!
  15. Bump for the weekend. Only the 4.0 and 8.5 left now. Can't believe the 8.5 hadn't gone yet - it's such a great low wind buggy engine & a complete joy to fly! Although I won't be too upset if there aren't any takers & I'm forced to keep it!

  17. 6.5 now sold & Thursday bump to the top!
  18. Cheers Dan - appreciate the bump & support. Anyway, evening bump & to say that the 6.5 is now sold (pending payment), but the 4.0, 4.9 & 8.5 still up for grabs - although maybe not for long as there's quite a lot of interest in them at the monent.
