Plezzy Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 Paul you will be glad you stayed away, God it was terrible, over crowded no wind, and looked like the tide had had covered it. Sorry that was last week. It was perfect. Git You should have sent me a bloody text. Stayed away 'cos thought I'd be on my Jack Jones, and not something I'm going to do anymore after the recent incidents, ...although I wouldn't mind a trip in a helicopter;) catch you soon P. Quote
youngged Posted March 8, 2009 Report Posted March 8, 2009 Thought u would be over in NWales with Ian on the boards as it was the weekend mate. ps Can u get any air yet on the board or are you leaving that to Ian You'd have hated it anyway, the beach was flat and hard and the wind was 25 gusting 33 really ******** conditions lol;) Highlight of the day was me getting very airbourne minus the buggy on the 3.3 Sprint and Mark trying to buggy jump a tornado when he put up his 8.5 Biv for his first run  Catch u soon buddy Quote

Being honest, would only have made it towards end of day as tied up in morning and then found the contents of my windscreen washer tank in the passenger footwell. A hose had come loose:rolleyes: Once I'd located the problem I spent the rest of day driving everyhere with the car heater on full blast. Still soaking wet:mad: as for the board ...the jury is still out. Nice one with your new PB. @bladeaddict - have you not learnt anything following recent incidents;) P. Quote
BladeAddict Posted March 8, 2009 Report Posted March 8, 2009 @bladeaddict - have you not learnt anything following recent incidents;) P. It would appear not Dont know what I was thinking. The wind meter in the clubhouse said 9.5mph so I thought I'd be lazy and just take the BIV 8.5 out with me. Whilst setting up I was watching the sand blowing across the bank and thinking that means its at least 20mph....but carried on setting up anyway I realised my mistake on the first turn when my arse touched the seat for the first time (lap straps rule ) Quote
Bbug Posted March 8, 2009 Report Posted March 8, 2009 I found I had some spare time this morning, having been woken up early. Now I knew the high tide was marginal today but thought it would be OK for the morning, at least. Imagine my dismay to get there at 8:30 and see just a small piece of sand bank exposed and a lake to cross to get to it. "D@mn" I said, and "drat" and other much stronger words. "That'll be the low pressure pulling the tide higher than it should" So I went home again. Now picture my face when I read here that people have been out on the bank today. Waugh-haugh-haugh. And I could have been too? Tell me it isn't true. You're just kidding, right? Right? Quote

Don't think anyone was out today, but if anyone did make it out they would have only needed thier kite bags to fly with ...and a pair of waders to get out there:D. Quote

Wind blown sand is 25mph+ territory;) Bet you're glad now I ran you back to the prom to get a smaller foil:D Quote
BladeAddict Posted March 10, 2009 Report Posted March 10, 2009 While I learnt that I CAN fly a BIV 8.5 in 25mph+ I also learnt that i dont ever want to again Quote

Jo0lz Posted March 17, 2009 Report Posted March 17, 2009 For those of you about at Hoy this weekend please take note that the clubhouse will be used for the First Aid Course from 9:30am to 4:30pm on Saturday 21st March. Also the John Deere is out of commision at the moment As the wheel bearings where completely goosed Its still in bits in the workshop... By the way it currently doesn't look like there will be much wind...so if you get bored you could always try putting the JD back together See you soon Jo0Lz Quote
