youngged Posted May 18, 2009 Report Posted May 18, 2009 Was on the 3.3 Sprint Paul. Was a weird afternoon, wind was dropping away as far as 12 mph and it was tottally underpowered at times. Then as every front blew through the wind would pick up into the 30's. The wind had really died away and I had come back to get the 4.5 out but just as I got back it started to pick up again so I stayed with the 3.3. Just after 3 one almighty front was coming through and as it closed in and Hilbre disappeared I stayed out for one last run. To be honest I could only see about 20m infront of me because of the sand and rain and I just held on and pointed myself slightly downwind. Looking at Hilbre the gusts were peaking at 43 ish  An interesting afternoon matey lol:D Quote

Having been flying my powerkite static for some time... im now looking at getting some wheels under me... im lucky enough to live on the paradise pennincula (about 10 min from Hoylake and WKirby). I think with having the beach at my doorstep the natural progression will be buggies.... could you give me some advice when and where is the best time to go and introduce myself to try and get involved in what i must have spent ages watchin from north parade. Chris Pm Surf1973 on here and he'll give you all the info you need on joining (you need to be a member of WSYC to use the bank). Beach is useable roughly every two weeks at neap tides (it dries out and stays dry for 3-7 days depending upon tides). You can find out more about the flying site here. http://www.wsyc.org.uk/wsyc_pages/wsyc_homepage.aspx P. Quote

Jo0lz Posted June 15, 2009 Report Posted June 15, 2009 SO been thinking after the 24Hr [always a little dangerous when suffering sleep deprivation] As everyone enjoys the night flying so much at the 24Hr.... We have proved we can do it safely We can easily get the permissions from various local agencies in place for any night flying in the future So how would people feel about a day/night enduro? NOT 24 hours, but say 6pm to 6am, or something like that? Jo0Lz Quote
