  1. The Super 10...... I bought this kite after seeing people up at my local flying location. I was watching them jumping and skudding. I just thought I had to do that. I went up to my local kiteshop, after lots of research, and found that they were selling the green version for only 75pounds. Although this seemed a bit strange, I bought it anyway, and took it up to the hill. There was about a 15 m/h wind. Just perfect for learning. After a few minutes, I had mastered the basic skills of turning, launching, landing et.c. One problem I would have with this kite is its extreme difficulty to reverse. Even once I was much more accomplished, I couldn't reverse it. this means that if you dont want to be running up and down the whole time, you need someone to help you. In strong winds, it does generate a certain amount of power. There is limited skudding that you can do. I do not agree with flexifoil's 16years+ rating that it was given. It is not that thrilling. Saying that, it is a very good kite to learn on, and is quite easy to sell on at only a fractional loss. However much I crashed this kite, it did not break. The lines did. When flying it in about 25 m/h, one of the lines snapped, costing me 18.50 to replace. This is a well built kite, and is easy to use recreationaly in high winds, or as a first kite. Good value for money. By : Coaster
  2. Build quality: Excellent. I've thrown it about and crashed it but the workmanship is very good indeed. It has dyneema lines which are terrifically strong so no worries about stretching, etc. Flying characteristics: Quite fast through the air. A bit like a HInda VTEC engine (which needs high revs to explode to life), the Super 10 gets quite frisky in 15 mph winds. Any less and I find it is a nice, relaxing kite to fly. The turning is superb and it makes a nice whirring sound as it scythes through the air. Stability: Very good indeed. The kite is very manouverable in winds above 10mph but doesn't really fly in very light winds (perhaps because it has a spar). Best use of the kite: You'd be hard pressed to get buggying out of it, or indeed landboarding. It's best recommended for satic flying in the park or on the beach where you might get some scudding. I'm 14 stones and it pushes me about a bit in winds above 15mph. Value for money: I bought mine on sale for £80 at airborn kites in Brighton. Terrific value. Packaging: Comes in a nice, neat bag. I got my wife to sew handles onto the back so that I can swing it over my back. It comes with padded handles, lines and spars. Everything you need to go flying right out of the box, so to speak. Conclusion: An excellent 2 line starter kite for static flying. I suspect you won't achieve much (if any) lift in this unless you weigh less than 9 stones! So if you're after traction activities like landboarding and buggying, etc, I'd say by something bigger. However, if you're after a kite which is easily packaged for beach and the park, there is probably nothing better. I'm so impressed by Flexifoil build quality that I'm investigating their range of traction kites. By : MrKDeluxe
  3. On my 14th Birthday Last year I recieved a lovely brand spanking new super 10, i had been flying my stacker 6 since i was 10 and now fancied more power! The super 10 packet had changed it was vented with mesh at the front and had a pocket for the lines and the lovely handles! My first flight was in about 5-6mph winds just to get the hang of things, first impression! Great! one thing that really suprised me was the ease with which it was flying in a light wind the stacker 6 takes alot more wind to keep it up! the pull was good and consistant with good control and a wide flying angle in the wind window. Very impressive. The build quality is exellent and launching couldn't be easier! I have now flown it in all sorts of winds up to 25+mph where the kite turns into a raging speed demon monster type thing! dragging me effortlessly along the field and even giving a bit of air! The kite isn't great for jumping except in strong winds where air is definately possible! This is a powerful, fun and great kite for dragging you along and just having a laugh, it will put a smile on your face! it is perfect as an intermediate level power kite! P.S it is stupidly durable i've smashed it full speed into the ground many times and havent had a problem yet! Overall i think this kite is excellent all round, at first it seemed a bit on the expensive side but you definitely get what you pay for this kite has lasted a years reguler use and will certainly last for many more! Now due to my recent growth spurt i'm saving for a blade III 4.9! Bring on the air! i'm 12+1/2stone and 5ft 11' is this the right size for me? any help appreciated! thanks! Josh By : joshyp

    Flexifoil Super 10

One of my first kites, I got a yellow one, which for some reason is cheaper than some of the other colours in the range. Good solid construction and a great kite for beginners, ripstop nylon body and a leading edge spar made from carbon fibre and fibre-glass end pieces. Extremely easy to set up with 300lb flying lines, 8mph upwards are the wind recommendations, it will fly in less but not much and it can be a bit of a pig to launch, especially on grass. Once airborne this kite is a joy to fly, it resembles a klingon bird of prey in the air and makes a pleasing roar as it cuts through the wind, really fast and responsive, with a fair amount of pull. You can stack as many as you dare, which is a nice idea. Only really a recreational/scudding kite, as it has no brakes, but I guess if you were insane, you could try to use a board or buggy, I wouldn't advise trying it though. I got mine for a little over £100 so I think this is great value for money. I have broken a couple of the end spars, but they're only about £6 to replace. Overall I would advise anyone who's interested in the sport to give this kite a go, especially if you're a bit worried about using four lines. By : DoktAphex
  5. This was my first power kite. On a windy day it can prove very enjoyable but is slightly lacking on a day with not as much wind. The kite is made of chikara rip stop nylon, dyneema pre-streched lines and has a pair of nice soft handles-much like my girlfriends. However I have washed my handles many time but they still smell of dampness and grass. I am extremely suprised by this kite as I have used it very reclessly and it is still undamaged! I've crashed it into the floor alot when I was learning, attemted flying it ontop of a hill in cornwall in a gale (it hurt a hell of alot, jumped landed, stummbled rolled over and got a nice big bruise on my shoulder and felt sick and breathless) I flew it in more moderate winds but it does'nt deliver quite as nicely. It is very responsive, turns easily, rarely luffs but lacks enough pull to give you any big airs. It definatly is not powerful enough to use with a board or buggy. I've attemted flying in reasonable winds (beaufort 4, which the instructions suggest as "ideal flying conitions" but it was quite boring) whilst sitting on my friends shoulders. My special area ached alot after that and I do not advise it to anyone unless they enjoy sado-masachism (which for the record I do not enjoy) £110(what i payed for the kite) I consider to be a bit much but after looking on ebay I realised you can buy an unopened super 10 for as little as £60. A great first kite! By : joey wizz
  6. I bought this kite about a year ago form my local kite shop (Kites Up). I got it home ready to fly it but it was raining. I was so excited about flying it but the weather was terrible. Finally i managed to get it out for my first time. It took me a little bit of time to get it up into the air because i was used to flying sport kites. When i got it up i felt a big pull, then i looked and the kite was just spinning around out of control. i landed it and found that one of the caps that was supposed to be on the end of the bar was missing, i took it back to the shop, they gave me a new cap and some spares and i was off. When i eventually got round to flying it properly it was awsome. It had the power to drag me along a field in winds of around 20mph. I took it out in winds of 35mph and it lifted me off the ground. This kite is brilliant, i have crashed it many times and haven't had any other troubles. The build quality on the kite is brilliant (apart form the cap being missing). It has amazing controllability for its power. This kite is best suited to recreational flying and getting long scudds. I would recommend this kite for anybody that has had experience with kites but wants to start power kiting. I also recomend that for your first few goes you make sure you are wih somebody that can help you if anything goes wrong. It was well worth the money. (£130) By : Wazzer2004
