  1. Hey Ben, if you want consequences... you should let me try to jump the buggy (shock horror -lol) 360 over your head.
  2. Flying high r the shizzle for tyres! I got some SNO-HOGS from Neal and these r the ultimate in grip!! They are barrow sized with a monster tread. Not for hard surfaces but ace on grass. They throw big lumps of turf into the air when you tack....... Nice.
  3. Floaty jumps in Assuming u dont weigh much then, a big 12m(+) depowerable.... Frenzy / P2 / 16mlei / 15m arc??? Good luck holding it down if the wind picks up!Dan:)
  4. What happened to that big green XXL??
  5. I dont think so. The speed is measured by the time interval between the magnet passing by the sensor jobby. The direction the magnet moves in makes no odds.
  6. Got some good runs in with the kitewing at the w/e (only the second time out). I kept gybing downwind cos I never really got enough speed (or skill) up to tack upwind...it is my new aim tho! It's a proper sod when the wind switches in a gust and hits the other side of the wing....... I think i should pick a better location next time! Dan
  7. Cool. I'm looking forward to it! Dan
  8. Sliding or just carving into the wind is the best way to slow it down... I dont even have brakes on mine as I use it only with the kite. My favorite kite with the dser is a 7.3 frenzy04. It has lots of float through the turns and is fast enough to loop. I also would recomend the kitewings.... no slack lines and ace upwind turns anyone? I'm gonna be at Hudsons on sunday (Lordshill on sat if there's any wind...). Southerly wind gives the long run down the slope, so i'll be taking the gps for some serious speed runs. Dan:cool:
  9. I'm sure it's doable with the wind in the perfect direction... I like doing handplants on the corners as i go past em! Tyre taps are more difficult. dont get tangled up in the nets tho ;-)
  10. ahem, cross over kit on a short bar? The only problem doing it this way is the slightly tricky relaunch. Just pull on one line till it blows over to where u can relaunch. The plus sides are that u can use a nice short bar, best with a swivel strop so u can untwist the lines after spins etc. There are only two lines so it's much less prone to tangles. U can tune the turning speed to where you like it. Thats how I'd do it anyway...
  11. It's quite easy when u get the hang of it, I start with the dser leaning toward me at 90degrees to the wind, put me feet in the straps with the weight on the heels, dip the kite and press lightly with me toes... the pull of the kite gets ya rolling straight away no worries. This method works toe side as well, just lean dser away and stand on your toes. Have fun, see u at wallop? Dan;)
  12. Try a 360 with the back wheels still on the ground. Fly the kite to the top to unweight the board, lift the front foot and look round (as 180 manual, but harder and faster) keep going... as you are nearly round dip the kite and keep going with big grin. If you get this, try as 540 transition to toeside.
  13. Will work just fine... If its bigger than 4m you could run it 2 lines & use a blade style crossover kit (make it yourself - its cheaper) to make it turn as fast or slow as you want. This will have the advantage that you can use a shorter bar. Hope this helps Dan:)
  14. I think buyin us a field is the way forward... I looked at the price o land and I think we'd better start selling shares!! How much land could 50+ kiters buy though? Worth a thought... maybe we could do a thread where people could speculate as to what they would be prepared to 'put up' in order to purchase our own flying site? I bet the legal side of that sort of thing would be a proper nightmare:rolleyes: ...... AMEN... Now lemme hear a HALLELUJA!!
  15. Dude you NEED GritX padded shorts!!! These little beauties make falling on your arse funny rather than agonising... I think they make a good job of saving coxyx/hip/lowerspine/pelvis etc. Ever done a big invert and caught up your lines in the wheels?? Try the link below for a nice price and best service! Dan T.
  16. OK, thanks chaps:cool:
  17. OK, Tom you are based in the middle of the country... Have you got a nice BIG field all the kite wing people can come to for a meet one w/e? There is a nice site in Salisbury, but its kind of direction specific ie no good in an E... Would MKYD be up for doing something like a meet? Maybe put it on their website...? If there are any other kite wing users I guess you'll read this thread at some point so what do you reckon? How many people would be up for a kitewing weekender? Got a great location perhaps?? Should it be done in conjunction with another event ie. Xzone or a seka fly in to get the interest in the wings going? Let us know what ya think Dan
  18. How many wings do mkyd.com flog in the uk each year? What sort of user base is there?? I've only ever seen one other kitewing person at an event in the south, it was Sly Jennings at the autumn xzone. I'm not about to start a poll or anything... Im just interested to see if there r enough wing-nutters to do an informal get together somewhere... ...somewhere with plenty of wind! Dan T.
  19. Can someone tell me what the qualifications I would need to formally teach landboarding (and buggying) are? Where can you go for them etc etc... Any advice on this subject gratefully recieved:) Dan
  20. Kite wings rock! Is there a meet planned just for wings at any point?? I use mine with my dirtsurfer and my MBS... Bring it on!! Dan T.
  21. Why do u want brakes? they'll just slow u down... ;) Dan
  22. Try emailing Highflyerz for best prices on MBS boards.
  23. Its gonna be a bit calm tomoz for kiting me thinks.... I hope so anyway coz I'm going paragliding with craig. I'll be there on sunday tho... Dan
  24. Bend ze knees, weight to the back... If its really harsh slide the back wheels outa tad, imho you cant be powersliding and speedwobbling at the same time... this works great on sand, you can sit right down and control the chaos with the back foot heel pressure. Or surrender to the dark side and get a dirt surfer..... you know its right!
  25. Dude, it has to be an inflateable sheep. These r the ultimate kite accessory. Everyone will have one soon....
