  1. Any one else?
  2. Hmmmm, look like fun but not sure if you need all that with kiteing. Can imagine its excellent for downhilling etc. but reckon theres a risk of major death wobble once youget some speed up. Haven't tried so dunno but thats what my first thoughts are looking at the pics. You're pretty high up on the board and it's not very wide so am wondering how stable.
  3. Hi, I'm heading to Cabarete in the Dominican Republic next Saturday. Was just wondering if any of you guys are going as I noticed a post about it a couple of weeks ago. Am off to get into Kitesurfing, am already kite landboarding.

  7. Hi Guys, cool! I'm heading to Cabarete in January and I've hooked up with http://www.Kitexcite.com - They have a school, a hotel, a shop etc. there and seem to offer some great options for learning! I'm already a Landboarder so they offered me the aki course which is a 10 hour crash course - ideal if you're already Kiting! Also, they have radio in the helmets so they are constantly telling you what you are doing wrong etc whilst you are doing it! Anyone else going in January and wanna hook up PM me! Ps. I'm staying at Ali's kitecamp http://www.kitecamp.com and hoping to stay out there for a while... HaPpY KiTeMaSs!

Reckon you could get some serious air with one of these? Ha ha MerrY KiTeMaSs aLL!
  9. Sos guys - as the forum names slightly changed recently it aint hard to land in the wrong forum... Will be kitesurfing soon though so talk then... Cheers...
  10. Hey, thinking of gettin a 4.9 blade III but b4 i do, was wondering if any1 knows more about the new Rebble? Cheers, m.
  11. b4 I continue... *what follows is my opinion, to my knowledge, at the time of typing only and may be subject to light to considerably heavy criticism/discussion/change/convincement of otherwise etc.* Anyway... I think like any hobby you are going to be doing for a while and wanting to enjoy you should deffo invest in not only the right Kite+board+helmet but yes clothes too! I just got me some snoboard pants from billabong, a jumper + skijacket from quicksilver and some (i must say BRILLIANT) boarding shoes (trainers) from rip curl. Ok, I spent about 150 spondooeys but hey, I can't see any1 else on the beach: a.) boarding in an out of the sea, getting soaked, (pretty much swimming (in these cold waters)) and luvin it! b.) never gettin cold at all - not a bit! Even when soaked! c.) lookin that cool cause we all know how cool these 3 makes are (and others which i won't list here though (cause it could go on 4 a while (not boasting I'm cool just luv the gear!))) d.) not needing pads cause the pants r so thick they're protection themselves (thats not to say don't wear pads (b4 any1 says anything!)) e.) I wear the same gear to work it's so comfortable and with the cold creeping in as winter descends upon us I reckon it's a seriously good investment! f.) for final - I wouldn't recommend it 4 beginners but if intermediate/profi (which again I'm not boasting I am) then u shouldn't be hitting the dirt too often and anyway hopefully not too hard to be ripping them nice clothes to shreds! I'm sure most snowboarders will agree too! My Motto: save where it matters least but invest in your hobbies! You'll get more Joy - seriously!
  12. Well, I've been looking into it and seems like the Dom Rep is THE place to go all year round - it's well cheap, darn nice climate etc. an I just got a flight for 300 spondooeys from holidaywarehouse.co.uk! It's menna have constant wind all year round and is especially good at this time o year! I'm off in January - can't wait!
  13. I'm using a 4.9 at the mo but my first kite is a 3m blade and I've had it out in upto 30mph winds infact I think it was more than that once quite recently - it's Perfect! It can get hairy but if on handles you're alright! Know the power zones and fly sensibly an u'll enjoy it! It also gives you great lift in those kinda winds if you want it. Also, the Frenzy's are meanna be awesome as you can fly the bigger ones in killer winds! Ain't tried one but hear it on here often. Good luck!

    Helmets

Hey Woppa! I just got a standard stateside helmet - cheap, does the trick and doesn't look too stupid.I haven't worn it much yet but since I'm doing air I have started to take it with me! By the way - where do you board? I'm usually down ballaugh or ramsey dep. on wind dir. Don't think I've seen u about - thought I was the only one KTB'ing over here. Was down on Sunday though not much joy but ur man with the buggy was there too - he said he knew you. Well, gis a shout sometime - b cool to get a few more KTB'rs together...
