  1. Would have been, but going away to Bath for the weekend. Seems I am doomed to never make it to a SEKA meet!!! Oh well, next time...
  2. Normally you would carve "uphill" to powerslide to a stop. Not sure how well you will get on going downhill with a Flexdeck, the healside bias may make life difficult, they are specifically designed for use with kites. I have no idea about a brake system... :)
  3. Loop kite back the other way? Or master 360's! Or spin the bar if you ride leashless (not recommended unless you are a pro!)
  4. Why steer clear of the 18m GII? Too much?
  5. The Vio looks interesting, but I am after an LEI rather than foil
  6. Been thinking about swapping my bag for Guerilla II's as I want to continue ATBing but also want to get on the water at some point... So the question is, as I can probably only afford two at the mo, what sizes should I consider and will it cover must of the wind range? I am about 75kg... Or, should I go for a different combination of kites (brands/model) with the aim of adding one more in the future? It is a tough decision, your thoughts are much appreciated! Thanks. PS If anyone wants to chat about it on MSN please add me to your contacts...
  7. Nice rainbow colour effects! EDIT: £250 kite only? What size? EDIT EDIT: Too much beer, just read - 7m - well that is pretty cheap. I wonder how well it flys! Let me know...!
  8. LOL, great post, remember, "what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger"
  9. Well at least you had 18 feet of joy - keep it up, you will get it eventually and it is worth it... But defo practice with the kite on its own first, it will help
  10. I have the Armadillos - they are very good. Very comfy, and nice to be able to flex them! They do collect crud though, but easy to clean.
  11. You really don't like them do you?! I guess I have had my best flights in clean coastal winds though... But they are great kites... Am thinking off going the Guerilla route mind you, but mainly because I want to get onto the water!
  12. Can't speak about the Bomba or the Viokite, but there are a lot of Frenzies on sale since the Phantom came out, so you could pick yourself up a bargain - a 9.5m suits me well in 10 mph+ upto about 20mph at the moment, could go further when I am more experienced. I might be going to the next SEKA meet, you could have a go if you are there?
  13. They are both there so that you can tune the kite - stick the KK and lines where you want them on the handles (normally KK on end of leader, so you don't have to remove line everytime you want to take KK off) - then stick the brake lines on the last knot on the kite end - fly the kite and see how responsive the brakes are, then adjust to taste You can make extra knots if you like, mine are between the two knots that you are talking about.
