  1. Does any have the same problem as me and is there a solution. I have a 8.5m Bomba (Carbon Compact Sticks) 10m Vortex ( Aluminium Compact Sticks) 13m Venom (Carbon Compact Sticks) & 16m Venom II (Aluminium Compact Sticks). The problem is that although the carbon sticks are fine, both sets of Aluminium sticks have split vertically along the seams. Having spoken to the Power Kite Shop they assure me that there is no manufacturing fault and can offer me replacements but with Aluminium only. Has anyone else experienced this problem and is there an alternative to aluminium???
  2. Shall I start the bidding @ £100
  3. Thanks for that Bristolboy it has given me peace of mind and will hopefully meet with another Link flyer in the area who can give it the once over. As I said at the start, after reading all the info on it seemed the kite me. So prehaps I need a different style of flying to what I have previously been use to.
  4. Yes I was...you proberly saw me slam the kite into the sea twice before giving up... After this I was up boarding on a friends 12m Rebel and then on my brothers 16m Venom...We had an absolute blast on Saturday with 10m Vortex's as the wind was 25-40mph. I hope this just shows I'm not a newbie and do know what I'm doing normaly.
  5. Thanks for that Paulie_amoose, that bridel is a red type and set up as the diagram suggests...I just wonder if there is still a problem?
  6. The bridel is the new red style and have been fly Blades, Frenzy,s, Venoms for the past 5 years so I think I can fly most kites...However Alastairy2K what can you tell me. PS, After giving up with my Link I had a good outing on a friends North 12m Rebel...Im thinking I may have to change?
  7. I have recently bought a 07 12m Link...after reading all the reports it seemed an ideal step on the water from years of landboarding with arcs. The first outing was Friday at Camber Sand, the wind was full on shore and about 10 mph...the kite was on the four line set up and did not fly well and stalled on several occasions nose first and was not nice to fly. The second outing was today at Camber Sands, on shore wind at about 15 mph, which is in the middle of its wind range, the kite did the same thing, hard to launch, stalled nose first. After adjusting the stopper, so the kite was semi powered up all the time, it seemed to fly a little better, however the crowning glory was it stalled again nose first, slammed into the sea and would not relaunch. Is it inherent problem with the kite or is the set up wrong...Can anyone help please.
  8. What about the exisiting clubs ie SEKA?
  9. Hi all. Please see picture of damage.
  10. Thanks for your help with getting the repair done but I must say that I am very careful with all my kites, I have had a G1 for 3 years without any problems and a Blade II 4.9m for 6 years and it is still as good as new. If I have treated it badly I would blame no-one else but myself, this is a mystery. I flew the kite one day, packed it up as normal and when I got it out the following day it was ripped (I was on holiday). It is like the "one who has to be obeyed" has taken a pair of scissors to it. I will take a photo of it over the weekend and try and post it for your examination. Many thanks. Sean
  11. Can anyone recommend a repairer. I have a PL VI 13m (6 months old, flown about 4 times) which has s split of around 30cm next to one of the inflation zipps. I do not know how this happened as the kite has never been crashed on land or water. Where can I take it. Many thanks.
  12. Myself and SAS Air went to BRS the weekend of the unofficial meeting, I drove from Kent after work and got to the Pub we were staying at at about 12.30 pm, the landlord was more than happy to serve us drinks until we forgot about our 6 hour drive. We liked the pub so much that we eat and drank there on the Saturday night. If a ban came into place at BRS there would be a down trend in off season trade which would effect the economy of the village which I am sure they would not like. From what went on that weekend, everyone had a good, safe time, it was self policed and there was no reported trouble. Why do people want to stop our enjoyed?
  13. So what's the verdict???Low tide mid day over the weekend. Is it worth a trip down to Ryde?
  14. Thanks for that, I'll keep an eye open for you.
  15. Going to the Isle of wight next weekend and would like to know if any one knows of any beaches or open spaces that are used for landboarding???
