As there was no wind i decided against the trip down from sherborne especially since the flu decided it wanted to visit me again.

Printed out a membership form, and if the weathers right i should be there on sunday with me kite and dirtsurfer. Though i will be rusty after many xmas pies

Cool I'll probably be there for midday or just after as i'll have to spend some quality time with the misses.

hello Is it alright if I tag along to this bash on sunday? I have bbc insurance, and it would be good to have a bit of a fly and i'll bring my dirtsurfer along as well - depending on how drunk i am from the night before. Cheers Garthy

You could also have a gander at the Redlands sports fields. I've played hockey there quite a bit but i don't know if the rugby/football post are up at the moment. I know in the summer the fields are mostly clear. Garthy

I've had my flexideck dirtsurfer since xmas last year, and I prefer it every time over four wheeled boards, and its great. The all the 2003 models have disc brakes which are excellent - I have been bombing down the quantocks at 45mph-50mph, and been able to brake with control using the calf lever. There is also space to adapt your brake and add a second rear brake if you want to. I know Tom who posts on this site has done that to his dirtsurfer. Some other advice to newbies on dirtsurfers would be not to look at the front wheel when riding as it will put you off, and there is info on dirtsurfers at http://www.mkyd.com or http://www.dirtsurfer.com - i think. I'm just starting to learn to kite board with my dirtsurfer now so I'll let you all know how I get along with it. Garthy

A similar thing happened to me over the weekend on my 2.5m. But after fixing the snapped line myself it looked like the I had the control and brake lines the wrong way around. I swapped the lines around and hey presto the kite is really well behaved now. Could you have done something similar? Garthy

Yep sorry for any confusion. I meant Flexi-deck dirtsurfer. I haven't had much experience with kites, but sizewise i weigh about 200lbs and am 6ft. Would a 4.5m kite be too powerful for me to start with? I tkae it's best to learn how to control the kite and how it responds before jumping straight onto my board. I've got loads of armour as i usually cruise at 40mph at least of dirtsurfer Cheers for the help Garthy

Hi there I'm a newbie to this board, but I'm looking to get a kite for my flexi dirtsurfer. I was lookng for something like a 3.5m bullet. Is this a good sort of kite to use?? Any info/ help would be appreciated, Cheers Garthy
