  1. I was in the same position as you a good while back and same size as well. I did try the flexi's but managed to get a Libre special for a discounted price and it carries my 100kg so much better. This is particulary true as I got more skilled in the buggy and started to throw it around a bit, the extra strength, axle width, more comfortable seat all made me appreciate why it cost that little bit more. Good luck with whatever you end up getting.
  2. Thanks for all the advice to everyone, I'll follow up most leads apart from Mick's suggestion (I am far too old and ugly).
  3. What do people recommend as a practical one-peice coverall for buggying on a wet beach?
  4. Anyone braving the weather at St Andrews this weekend? (Myself and Kiwi will be there Sunday braving whatever the elements throw at us)
  5. Never mind brakes! It really does look the "business". Smogthemog - if you were ever thinking of selling that buggy on, so as you could built a bigger better one, let me help you move that one on.
  6. Tom - thanks for the link. Phew!! they are rather pricey, wonder if there any second hand ones on the streets yet?
  7. Any idea how heavy? Kgs or lbs
  8. Tom You are absolutely right - and I was being "tougue in cheek" with the comment below. I haven't gotthe time to travel around the UK but would support anything going on in this part of the world. John
  9. Jim Thanks for the info "Methinks Tom does presume too much", but having said that, I'm keen to support any new veture to take kiting forward. I hadn't seen anything on the XXracer so I'll now look out for that. Reference loading on the car: my concern is that I load the buggy onto a frame mouted on my towbar and I was worried about too much weight being located at that point. Since then Keef have welded a stronger frame to sit on the towbar for me so the issue has gone away. John
  10. I'm sure dangerous Bob would produce a bellypan for you (his details are earlier on this thread). Save yourself the effort of making it - his are tried and tested (in fact I have his Libre Special variation fitted) and I believe his costs are very competitive. If you are very lucky you could go home with it fitted this weekend. I ought to be on commision!! (Bob take note if you read this) John
  11. What a nice looking beach - I wonder where it is???? J.
  12. And a fourth for Autosol .............................. you now know what you have to do! J.
  13. John - No Problem - I'll keep you posted
  14. Sounds like the buggy I should be looking for is the Chameleon Anolis. Anyone out there want to sell theirs on? J.
  15. Cheers for the info - just the sort of thing I was looking for (though not sure about the drinks holder!!)
  16. Thanks for your consideration Paul, but I thought that was the buggy you were taking to the USA! I suppose you want to sell this one to me??
  17. Thoughts and comments welcomed. 4 years of cruising with a libre special (now running on 3 Kenda 401's) and now want something in stainless and probably with B/F lights. I enjoy going fast but am not a racing man so want something that copes with salt and sand, is light enough to lift onto the car but is big and comfy for a lardy. Initial thoughts are something from: Parastorm or Cameleon J.
  18. Dave You might want to reconsider your plans if you haven't remembered what is going on this weekend. It is the Leuchars airshow on Sat, and we are expecting 9000 cars and 50 coaches to be piling in to the area through the morning, then (obviously) blocking the roads from 5 onwards as they all try to get home. You'll also see all the folks that want to avoid the £15 entrance fee by parking at west sands and watching across the estuary. If you do still pitch up, fly on short lines else your jumps could end up a lot higher than you planned (loads of low flying aircraft). John
  19. I would offer my services if we wanted to go ahead with setting up a new body. I spent 3 years back in the eighties helping to get getting windsurfing recognised as a sport so have some experience that may be of value.
  20. I can recommend the "belly-pans" that Dangerous Bob produces (post below). The one he did for me is the business and now he has the templates, you know that you will get the same high standard from him.
  21. Munky - Tis true, he's not half the man he once was! Graeme - don't you have any more students for me; I need to fund a new buggy. CU L8tr J.
  22. I know my belly may be big, but a bellypan for it? I think not. You'll need to look at the buggy next time your up. See you whenever. J.
  23. I went up onto the grass to demo my new bellypan so that Dangerous Bob could persuade some more people to part with their cash and order bellypans from him for their buggys. Only person I could see left on the beach when I left was wee Paul on his 1.5 bullet. Catch you next weekend? J.
  24. I'll probably be there both days (weather permitting) so will look out for you. J.
  25. I've not been to Ainsdale yet, but hope to in the near future. Can anyone give me a recommendation where I can park a caravan up and still get easy access to that great beach of yours? TY
