  1. I think im gonna get some sort of ice screw or metal T shaped anchor thing. Taking my skis off would be the last thing I would want to do because you just sink in the pow, skis are sharp too and your immobilising yourself if the kite blew away... is anyone out there in BC?
  2. Thank you so much for all the information! Im definitely swaying towards nz or oz... probably wanaka eh I just want to be a snowkite bum for the southern hemisphere season. Theres some criteria... Ive got no intention to buy any lift tickets or work, just want somewhere cheap to live where I can snowkite a lot nearby and ski tour, where people pick up hitchikers and theres accessible snowkite terrain from a road. Does this place exist? Is it Wanaka? My Spanish is **** so S. America is probably off the cards this year. More suggestions/any hookups are very welcome! Duncan
  3. Where is the best place for snowkiting in the Southern Hemisphere? Ideally where there is a town nearby and rent is pretty cheap. Was thinking somewhere in NZ maybe? Plan is to go out August -> October sort of time If anyones interested in joining me give me a shout
  4. Reading this has got me so excited! I got my new manta 2 out the other day to set it up and have a little fly in a school field here in Rossland. The wind sucked but she flew nice- just need to find a local spot to rip! Gonna hitch to a lake soon, which from what I hear should be a good location but how do you know when theyre frozen enough to kite on? I guess I should just ask locals... Im just worried im not going to be able to control my urge to get my skis on and just go for it, and im going to end up falling through the ice, or get eaten by some form of huge canadian wildlife. I want to go snowkiting! Now! Aaaaagh!

  20. I've had a great time with all this kit over the years, but have made a decision to move to Canada to work and ski. I'd be open to swapping stuff for snowkiting gear as well, as thats something I NEED to get into! I'll get some pics soon. Libre VMAX buggy Speedo, Fat knobbly tires on the back- keeps a real good grip for charging down the beach when your powered up, great on grass as well. Bought new wheel bearings for it last year. Ill chuck in the big wrench I have for the wheelnuts as well- far better than using an adjustable spanner. Lines- 2 sets Couple sets of handles Big metal stake Dakine Speed Seat Harness C-Quads in 2.2, 3.2, 4.2, 6.3 Im a firm believer in these kites- when flown right they'll easily keep up with the best of them and their upwind ability in a buggy is phenominal. Gin Yoz 4.8 - may or may not be for sale... NPW9 5.3 Make me some offers... I'm based in West Yorkshire, you can come and check out the gear anytime, just give me a shout. Also selling non kite related- Peugeot 306 with a roof rack- great for hauling gear about Another 306- spares or repair Onza trials unicycle
  21. Havent posted on here for ages! Was just wondering, what decent beaches are available in the North West (West of Leeds) for buggying and a bit of kitesurfing. We were gonna go to Redcar this weekend but havent done enough kitesurfing and are not stupid enough to go out in an offshore wind. Cheers, bob
