  1. I was up at Purley last night flying and the football posts are still very much in evidence! Not sure about when they play though!
  2. Just to give you a bit more to do - my membership form is in the post! Looking forward to meeting people at Purley on the 3rd.........................It is Purley Way on the 3rd isn't it?
  3. I had the problem delaminating with my Comp 16 Pro which was bought at christmas time (2003).....I have contacted Maxtrack who asked me to email them a couple of photos and agreed to replace the deck straight away. All in all they have been very helpful and pleasant about the whole thing. As DJStu_d said there don't have comp 16 pro decks in stock until mid march
  4. Not me I'm afraid - heading down to the West country for some beach action!! Have a good one! :D
  5. Great day had yesterday, loads of wind and only minor injuries!! - will bring waterproofs next time or learn how to jump the channel!! Good to meet you all, I'm looking forward to making Camber a regular haunt!! I've got a couple of photos to follow as well!! Cheers, Jules :D
  6. Cool will see you there tomorrow then! Should be there around 11ish as well depending on how long it takes me to drive! Weather is looking fine for tomorrow! :D
  7. I am going to try and head down to Camber on Sunday - forecast looking wicked as you say. Haven't been down before as I'm quite new to the area but would like to meet some kiting folk in this part of the world! What sort of time will people get there? High tide is 07:21 - how long after high tide is the beach usable?
  8. Is anyone going to Camber this Saturday (rain permitting), I'm new to the area and was thinking off popping down to check Camber out for the first time and maybe meet some kiting folk! Any tips about where to go once there or anything else I need to know would be most welcome! Cheers :D PS - I'll be mountain boarding if that makes any difference
  9. Its early and its my last day at work - I'm allowed to come up with stupid comments! As for what I do for a living..................mostly browse the Flexi forums!! Legs are not feeling to bad - must have more stamina than you old folk!! :D
  10. WaaaHaaayyy!! That was my effort!! If you look carefully you can see me running backwards across the downs!! Good to meet you last night Gingerbloke! Let me know when your computer is working again so you can email some pics across! Cheers, Jules
  11. Sounds good to me - though if the wind turns round I may go down to the beach! If you fancy making it FOUR times in one week I will be going for a trial run night fly this evening at TUP, I will be there about 6pm! Any takers????? I need to make sure all the lights work and the kite flys before the proper event in Bristol tomorrow - cmon you know you want to! ;)
  12. That goes for sand as well - the harder your tyres are the easier it is to get moving and maintain your speed and momentum..................it can make it a bit bumpy though! Although softer tyres will give you more grip they do slow you down alot and mean you will need to be even more overpowered that you would otherwise. It helps if are already used to the board - for example try riding on a gentle slope without the kite just so you get a feel for the board and balancing on it. I assume your kite skills are already up to scratch as you buggy, so you should be able to get up and going pretty quickly!
  13. Looks interesting - I'm guessing you would need to be seriously powered up to get going..... and holding an edge - looks difficult..... Correct me if I'm wrong - just my initial thoughts!
  14. What about an MBS Core 16 - Cheaper brother of the Comp16 but still far superior to the AIR-S in my opinion. Similar handling characteristics to the Comp but just slightly heavier - a top notch board for the money!
  15. I bought my first kite from Cark at TOTEK and it was delivered perfectly as expected in a couple of days - never heard a peep from the customs people. Excellent service - That was just my experience - I have heard some people have been stung for VAT......
  16. Try keeping your kite in the air - keeps the paint off I find!
  17. Agreed, I use the 2.5 Bullet as a high wind kite for boarding and it works very well. Super 10's are fun in high winds but not much good for boarding I'm afraid! Other small 4 liners you could look at are 2.1m Ozone Little Devil 2m Pkd Buster 2m Pkd Joy All of these IMO are good high wind kites for boarding.........
  18. waHeyyyyy!!! Looks like just three of us then, since no one else can be bothered!! See you there folks!!
  19. See you there, going to watch the All Blacks match first so should get there at around 12pm........ Have you sorted the weather because its looking a bit crappy so far?!?
  20. I run my Kheo flyer at about 35 Psi on the grass and crank them up to 45Psi on the beach I find that gives me the best balance of grip and speed - have a play about though and find the best pressure for you - everyone has different riding styles and preferences.
  21. Save £80 and go for the Bego 600 - far superior to the Blade IMO!! Granted it comes kite only but allow £50 for lines and handles and it will still be £30 cheaper than the Blade! Be warned though it is a very powerful kite, I weigh 11 stone and happily fly it but I am very wary of how strong the wind is and know my what my limits are with it!
  22. Cheers Mal, that was what I had hoped! Makes things much simpler! Think I have all the bits then just need some daylight to set it up in - roll on the weekend! Anyone else with any other advice feel free contribute!
  23. Sorry if this has been covered before but I couldn't find anything with the search tool! I'm thinking about putting my 4.5 Bullet on a bar and wondering if anyone could give me any advice and/or set up tips. From looking at the manual etc I see that it is a four line configuration with the brakes going though the centre of the bar. It also mentions a pulley system on the brakes - is this unique to Flexi bars or could I use any make? Does anyone fly on a three line configuration with the brakes connecting near the kite and and a single brake coming down to the bar? Any help would be much appreciated! Cheers.
  24. LMFAO! I'm glad someone else has a sense a humour!! :D
  25. Very much up for a trip to the beach on Sunday 9th! No idea what the weather etc will be doing by then but assuming its windy and not too wet I'll be there!
