  1. yeah the field in hinkley is really good, i havnt flown there for ages. Go and fly up at groby community college some time if you get a chance, its a huge field that fits about 8 or 9 football pitches on it, i think the goal posts are down now but im not totally sure(easy to dodge them anyways). if the winds good im either there or at castell park which is just down the road.Castell isn't that big but theres enough for a few kiters. hope that helps jamie
  2. i had the 4.9 up in far too much wind on thurday. pulling some massive jumps on the board. i think the highest jump was around 10 or 12 foot, it was a nice tyre grab until i realised how fast the floor was coming to meet me, thats when i decided to bail. i landed a little harshly but it was all ok. decided to leave the 4.9 down after that and put up the 3 meter blade 3 jamie
  3. the guy i fly with has one, it came with power rings already fitted i think. im not sure cuz i havnt seen him for a while but i tihnk they are about 10 or 12 cm long jamie
  4. at the start of last year on teh libre site there was a video of sum guy skiing with his kite in a comp (i think ) and he took off and stayed in teh air for 28 seconds, the site said the juimp was about 50 meters i tihnk. the videos gone now but it was amazing to watch jamie
  5. i have been looking at some body armour myself i need it for riding mountain boarding on hills and kite and generally everything i do. the nicest stuff ive seen so far is the fox roost or i saw some really nice ufo crosser armour both for about 70 quid i fink. im just not sure if i will have enuff flexibility with the kite jamie
  6. i think i saw a small review of it in atb mag a couple of months ago and was wondering about them myself as i need a light board jamie
  7. i would prolly go for the 3m blade 2 as it is a great all rounder jamie
  8. id say definatly go for the first one the second will be too hot and the last giro one looks good but iv herd that they are quite flimsy where you can take the peak off but that is a different model (me finks)so it should be fine jamie
  9. i cant really explain how i got my spins right but i can giv a go at explainin the grabs, at first i just practiced taking one hand off and putting it back on whjilst jumping then i brought the board up a bit and instead of actually grabbing the board just slag the bottom or end of the board to see wot its like kepp practicing this and in the end you will begin to actually grab the board instead of just touching it for a second i doubt that made sense but i did try jamie
  10. depending on your weight i think you should go for a 2 or 3 meter firebee or buster as they dont break the bank have good pull and a wee bit of lift just take it out in very light winds whilst your learning jamie
  11. scrub make spare bearings i think they are £10(ish) for a set, i nearly bought sum for myself. i think it was airbossworld.co.uk that was sellin um the site isnt finished yet but the phone number is in there sumwhere. jamie
  12. if you havent got a harness and are flying in a reasonable wind then you should probably take the strop because if you get imn a little trouble you can let go of one handle with the strop on this isnt an option really jamie
  13. all three of those examples from srod look and feel really good when your doing them
  14. you take the two top power lines off and slip the strop on just underneath where the power lines should go.thats how iv been fltying for nearly a year and it works well jamie
  15. a friend of mine has got the silver reef its a great board smooth fast and looks reely nice. its totally different to the old scrub boards . the only thing that really annoyed me was that if when your moving quite fast you try to do a sharp turn to go the other way the deck jams against the 9" tires and you get thrown off the front, im not sure if it happens on all of them or weather this board is just a one off. i was thinking about one of these boards for myself until this happened but now im gonna go for the airs if i can ever save up. i think it might be because they tested the board with 8"wheels and then decided to put the 9" on it. other than that it was a nice board.
  16. what part of leicterrshire do you live in? if we could meet up some time in the holiday u could have a go at flying something a little larger like my bee or the blade. if u get a chance just pm me and we can sort something out jamie

  18. bigmister if u try and get ur dad or in some cases ur mom into flying so they like it alot they begin to pay for all your kit, im in the same situation and it worked for me
  19. mister burns if u can come up to groby then fly on castell park on the top one of the two fields it has more space(the one without the playarea). if ur up there ill try to come up and see u jamie
  20. dunno if its true but i heard that the halfords vboard was exactly the same as the scrub easy rider with same components and everthing but different design and grip tape. i had a go on one and it felt the same, dunno if it helps but i thought id share it with you
  21. im not sure at the moment my dad told me earlier that he wants to keep that board and that if i want thats gonna suit me better im gonna have to buy one myself. sooooooo i think im gonna get me a core 16?mabye. if the easy rider does fail ill see what i can do Jamie
  22. Thanks holyman, i was also wondering what the binding holes were like? are they the same as the easy rider?

    New Deck

I think my scrub easyrider is about to break. the trucks are cutting through the board because they come loose so easily and its generally in bad condition so i was looking for a new deck. On the extreme kite shop website they hav the kheo flyer deck which is about all i can afford and i was wondering if anybody knew if the holes that you bolt your trucks on with were the same as on the easy rider? Any help greatly appreciated Jamie
  24. i use a scrub easy rider its really easy to learn on and is very strong so will take alot of weight. my only complaint is that the trucks come loose every time i take it out. it doesnt take long to tighted up but it does get a wee bit annoying. its a good board and quite stable. i put my board through alot and it hasnt broken yet. jamie
  25. i cant get out today but if u can come down to castell park(groby) any time in the future pm me and we can meet up jamie
