  7. Just a few questions I would like to know before I decide weather to join the PKA as im a BBC already. All my questions regard kiteing in all its forms. How many members as the PKA got at this moment in time?. What is the PKA doing about access to Lytham? Why is a national club holding its AGM so far south? What are the members that left the PKA doing or did they just step down from the commitee? If people dont join what would happen if they just turned up and buggy anyway? Would i need to have a licence to race at lets say at middle wallop? What beach access gains as the PKA made over the winter? As there been any gain at Lytham? What gets me is, I thought the PKA was sticking up for us (as in all kiters) but from where i sit it seems just the same as the day of the accident. I do feel ever strongly for this sport and access to my local beach in the main (selfish I know but I dont see anyone talking about up north). At the end of the day the fact is united we stand devided we fall, we have to move fast and get this show on the road now, as the winter seems to have been wasted.

I say we need to target the beaches with bans on them , dont seem any point doing it where it is not banned, surely the idea it to get the councils with the bans to see the lost in revenue at that place not some where that kiteing is allowed.

The forst thing we need to know is if any fliers wish to attend lets say Lytham to start with. Then to get the press should be no probs. As far as the locals go you dont stand a chance as Lytham is a retirement town and the old folks dont go buggying much. If we all turn up and put a hundred or so kites up we will get noticed. Then is just a case of keep going to the siteas often as poss. The council will not want to let this get to the courts as then money comes in to it. As for a spokes person , I dont think that will be a prob (loads of gob ****es on here )

There is no reason why we should not at least fly kites at Lytham as the ban only aplies to wheeled vehicles but we could line all the buggys up just to make a point.

I was on the phone for about 1 hour to Lytham sand yacht club last week and they say there is no sign to a end to the bann on there beach as the inquest as not been done yet. Its seems to me they are just waiting around to hear from the council, but think there is a chance that it will only be allowed in the winter months. To be honest it did seem like they have lost all interest as they could not tell me anything about what is going on the the ban. Lytham are not even taking on any new members as they are not sure if there will be any club left to join. I also got the impression that they didnt really what buggiers in they,re club. I was also on the phone to rob at wirrel sand yacht club who have sercured the beach there but only to club members (seems a bit unfair to me) but aleast they are doing something to keep this sport going. The way i see it is we need unlimited access to the beaches at least and the chances of that seem very slim, But we have no one speaking for us so how do we stand a chance? We need the councils to see how many kiters there is in this country. One way to do this would be for lots (and I mean lots) of us to turn up on a beach for the day,Lets say we target the beaches with bans on them at the mo. That way the council would turn up and see just how many of us there is, maybe ring the local papers too. what could they do to us anyway? It seems to me we need to stand up for ourselfs in this one (united we stand divided we fall) I for one am prepared to take this all the way through the courts, I will not stand by and watch my sport be trashed by councilers who have no idea what this sport is all about.
