  1. nah, it's full 64bit. But only if you're using 64bit optimised software and windows xp-pro64! Can Anyone help I want to upgrade my CPU and Motherboard..... I am looking at the AMD Athlon 64X2 Dual Core 3800+ Dual core is good, but it won't help with power hungry apps as it's effectively 2 processors working together and only programmes written to take advantage of this will see an increase (photoshop cs2 is the only one I know of at the mo) Where it will help is if you're multitasking, i.e you can encode video on one processor and then run photoshop on the other with little loss of speed. The onboard sound is pretty much granted on most boards today and to be honest, unless you're writing music they're all up to the job. Onboard vga is poo, you're right. But you wont see any benefit from sli unless you're playing ghames at very high quality quality and resolutions. Personaly, if it was me, I'd be going for a socket 939 epox motherboard, about 2gig of ram in dual channel mode, then whatever money you have left for the fastest processor you can afford. Unless you're playing games then pretty much any pci-e graphics card will do you ok. Your SATA and ide drives will be compatable as will any DVD drives etc. Justy make sure you leave money for a decent power supply (NOT QTECH!!!!!) of about 500w plus. Think that about covers it, and I hope it helps. Spencer

    goin up wind

^^^as above really^^^ Some kites do have better performance upwind though, as far as I have learnt, don't try and go too far downwind on your downwind leg as it gives you more ground to make up, great for speed but can be a pain in the @rse to get back again
  3. dude, relationship splits are never easy on either party if they were both deeply into each other. If one of you is finding it that easy I would suggest that they were never too 'into' the relationship in the first place. People have different ways of dealing with stuff, and unfortunately one of them is to play mind games and try to belittle the other party. I know, I've got experience from both sides of the fence! Best advice... a)build a bridge and get over it b)Ignore her
  4. or cheapest option..... get a 802.11g USB dongle for about £15 and use that to network the pc and the handheld, set up as an ad-hoc network. Easy to do, just use the wireless network wizard in windows sp2. Then when you get BB, get the free ADSL modem that should come with the package and set up your desktop for internet connection sharing. This means that you only have one pc connected to the net as per your contract, but the pda will connect through your desktop. If you're gonna go down this route I would strongly recommend getting a book called 'networking for dummies' or getting someone to set it up for you. It can be hideously complicate dif things don't work first time and as you don't have much nouse on the subject it may save you alot of trauma and will probably only cost you £30 notes or so (well that's what i'd charge you!)
  5. to be caught by one of my of my mates sleepin with his girlfriend, who then takes me to the shed and padlocks my **** in a vice and gets out a hacksaw. I say 'you're not gonna cut my **** off are you?' he says 'No, you are, I'm gonna set fire to the shed!' Plagurism is fun!
  6. Yes , that was me andy. I remember the first time you got lofted by your blade 4.9m at the crabtree. I was often down there with rasga and my little libre special. Moved to Bath a while ago and now had to give up the Bakery job, but it's ok. Safeway were EVIL!! Hope everything's ok with you these days?
  7. p.s. maybe best if you guys pm me if you have any further interest, just in case I have another temporary fit of amnesia
  8. sorry bout the delay posting back here dudes, forgot I put this thread in this forum as well *slaps forehead* kiteloony: would love to but I don't really get on with the quad's. And yes, I have flown them, very quick and magic upwind but also a bit tricky to wrestle into the bag as I remember rightly. Make me an offer on the elixir though and maybe we can do business? Filthy: Thanks for your concern, I am gonna be ok, apparently I could well of had this for a while and not noticed. It's not fatal, just a bit crap really. I've had to give up my job as it was just aggravating my asthma on top of this condition. Had to give up the jazz fags as well :( grrrrrrrr. It has however given me few months on the social to look forward. I needed a good long holiday while I retrain for I.T. Alls well that ends with a bigger salary and more kites eventually. Just glad I booked and paid for my Hebrides ferry a couple of months ago! LOKI: The IL2K is in the april fire color scheme, Red, orange and green. Hardly flown as I preferred the Elixir. Also has the spoilers for high winds too. Let me know what you think about price etc. It's in showroom condition! PETE: I think I've arranged a swap for the radsail so it may be off the menu, just waiting for the other party to get back to me. Make me an offer on the super 10? (arount the £60 mark?) It's got the flexifoil lineset and padded handles, old style color scheme raspberry/black/jade (looks less gay than it sounds)
  9. I bet when she gets text message everybody thinks she's reversing! Cue millions of awful 'yo mamma so fat' jokes
  10. Right then guys/gals....... Unfortunately had to give my job as a baker due to ill health (fortunately curable lung disease) and as a result I'm having to slim down my kite bag a little... mostly stunt kites but hope someones interested? I'm open to any sensible offers or multicolored swap shop type affairs gettin rid of Radsail pro 4m Flexifoil Super 10 5 stack of prism microns prism illusion 2k all the above are in excellent condition Hq Jam session millenium rainbow (needs new end caps and a small repair on the trailing edge) Prism elixir (good overall condition but a couple of seasons old and could do with a new fitting on the right leading leading edge as it's started to wear and it's a bit sandy) all come with lines and handles etc. what I'm hoping to get out of all of this is enough cash to get a 3m kite and a 6m kite, but not radsails as they're just a bit too lifty at speed in the buggy for my liking. go on knock yourselves out!
  11. mr mcdonald sir, had you considered lansdowne playin fields in Bath? It's only okish at the mo as they still have the goal posts up but at the end of the footie season it's brill site. top of a hill, flat and free parking at the park n ride!
  12. well, there must be some of you of who use this forum! Especially as there were about 15 various people at the lansdowne site yesterday! So come on, 'fess up, who are you?
  13. done that bit!!! Things confusing me are..... Profile of ribs..... WTF!!!! how to get the top down shape right i.e. the flat, not inflated shape! grrrrrrrrrr........ wish i'd paid more attention in my c.d.t. lessons at school now!
  14. have had a bit of a fiddle with surfplan now....some of the stuff is a bit beyond my ken at the moment. The version I downloaded is limited in so far as it won't let you alter the graphical makeup of the kite and there are no foil plans !!! Did you take any measurements off of the foil design you were trying to copy? I'll have a hunt for that group on yahoo I guess. sorry about al the questions, perhaps i should be asking DAve!!! I'd feel a bit cheeky asking you to share your hardwork!!!!
