saw this in the flesh a few weeks back, neat, simple etc, but our first question was the same as yours Marc, few weeks in English/welsh sand, thrown in the back of a car etc, see how it lasts.. it does come apart and North do say rinse with fresh water etc, the flat depower line seemed the best feature, but at least some brands trying different things
  2. This is from my facebook page... .Just rescued a kite surfer 1/4 mile off shore at Aberdovey, his line had snapped and he was struggling against an out going tide , monster waves and a strong rip current, took about an hour to get him in, took his board in first then kite surfed back out to get him, wrapped his kite and towed him in, but with the huge swells, it took ages against an out going tide, 100ms from shore and the RNLI turn up in two land rovers and an off shore rib, they weren't needed
  3. if they bother to read it... got kite surfing signs on entrance car parks at borth but they still set up bang in the middle of where the kites are..
  4. played? i think you've just pulled
  5. i met Andy for the first time a few weeks back at ynyslas, only 4 of us out, but the guy loves the sport, never seen anyone grinning so much and genuinely enjoying himself... I can understand his frustrations, when in his eyes he's trying to help people, wether misguided or not..
  6. yesterday was brilliant on a 9m. today on a 7m blown off water dropped to a 5m and even that was just survival kiting, not much fun, packed up after an hour. gusts coming through now are 60 plus, not a sole on the beach at the Mo, time for another log on the fire and wait for tomorrow...and Monday /Tuesday ....
  7. ahh the good old tuning chips/remaps etc. just be careful with that extra welly going through gearbox and clutch, had an 140bhp renault remapped to 195bhp and it ate two gearboxes until i had a strengthen unit put in. It was on a 54 plate though. most newer engines used on vans now use same engine just different maps for bhp etc, so should be ok for getting extra ommph out of the engine as they all use same gearbox etc. have fun but watch your licence

    How to Megaloop

where's the bit about after pulling your first one and having to change your pants. Great Vid
  9. Speaking to ynyslas ranger/ wardens yesterday and they said one of them had picked up a board. They think last year it was found, details a bit sketchy They think its a crazy fly, couldn't remember, and it's with one of the warden/ mangers, so if you lost one around Borth, Aberdovey or beyond get in contact with ynyslas visitor center, and tell them what you lost etc. hopefully board will be re-united, and I'd like to think, a nice thank you present to the warden who found it. 01970 871640...that's the visitor center number. col

sure that wave wasn't caused after you'd just fell in!!! yes can get weird wind effects here, NNE this morning known locally as 'IVOR' up to about 20knts till about 10...its caused by the cold wind rushing down from the mountains, Katabatic wind I believe ..and now at 17:15 hrs its sea breezing about 12/14 knots. You can also get great waves across at aberdovey, known as the 'graveyard', because you park by the graveyard, not death becomes all who sail there.. actually thinking about S/E wind direction aberdovey sometimes works better as it's onshore there....

right ynyslas, typed by me in me house in err ynyslas. All wind directions will work. S/E as asked by first poster, works in the estuary and the pools on low tide, there's a sandbar called Dovey bar that stops you going out to far, can be gusty, also offshore riding in same wind direction, IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR DOING ,can be epic in the flat water peeling waves way, but, ONLY IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR DOING. the mega funneled I need to change my pants wind works on a NNE, and you can often double the wind speed in a flat water, choppy at times estuary, with speed channels. IN FACT IGNORE ALL OF THE ABOVE, ITS CRAP EVEN WHEN WINDY!!! NO-ONE SHOULD EVER KITE THERE ONLY ME
  12. KSA...ouch, get to a physio, I've done similar and physio sorted me out quickly, with ultra sound and heat treatments but on the plus side it'll be mega windy and warm for the rest of us, right up till you heal up then the winds will die. Law of SOD and all
  13. . riding blind, down loops, surface passes, toe side, low back rolls/front rolls, sausage rolls, cheese rolls ,ham rolls.. oh bugger I'm confused now. might have helped if you stated low wind first time filming..were all jealous anyway as I/we didn't get out as I t'was working. four days off from tomorrow though so i'll be out
  14. I actually thought about mowing my lawn outside after that vid. it'll probably be more exciting, here you go same action packed footage
