  1. I did try and find out but the only information I found was that is wasn't allowed on or around the island as its a nature reserve. I read that as being allowed as long as it was in the middle somewhere. I'll do some further research n see if I get a better answer. Seems like a waste of good sand if it isn't allowed.. Fields seem a little limiting Thanks for the responses all. Martin
  2. The idea was to board between the beach in West Kirby, and Hilbre Island. When the water goes out, it has about 2 miles of sand to play with. Guessing we'd find an ok spot.
  3. hahah! I'm not shy of falling off! It happens far to often for that Yeah My friend is the one that whimped out. I was all up for it. I'll push for it next week
  4. My friend scared me off. Said that there will be patches of dry sand that my board will bite into and send me head over heals!? how true is this? Surely if the sand is wet there will be very little dry patches?
  5. Great! Thank you!
  6. Hey Guys, Going to take my kite to the beach this weekend n give my board a go on some nice sand. Few questions:- I'm gonna hose my board down afterwards to clean all the muck n salt off of it. What about the kite? is it ok to just brush the sand off and pack away? or do you suggest a way to clean before packing? ( I have dirt outs and will give it a wipe for good messure) Also, what kind of an effect does salt water have on my lines? I'm new so I'm expecting a few crashes! Any advice is greatly received. Martin
  7. WOW! This looks great! I'm bringing friends. Wont be going anywhere near the water n will be outclassed by everyone on land but I'm gonna be there! Hmm, how to pitch this to the wife.. I'll hopefully meet some of you.. I'll be the geeky looking one being dragged on his face down the beach!
  8. My friend and I saw you guys in the water. Well, we saw your kites coming down to the front. (we were going to the bowls to set up our 3.5's) Went to watch you for a bit, damn you guys are brave. Assuming it was you (think there was 3 in total). That was some epic wind and you made it look easy. We set out 3.5's up, got dragged on our arses for 10 mins and gave up, looked for calmer winds!
  9. Yeah that they closed the site.. I got excited that I had somewhere to fly.. read 78 pages of posts to find its closed.
  10. Thanks Andy, Think I need to find a better site..
  11. Jewellery Quarter. I've been driving up north every weekend to Liverpool to get some clean wind but its costing me a fortune in petrol somewhere closer to my new home would be nice. Not had a chance to try Sutton Park yet due to the weather.
  12. Guys, Sorry to highjack. I've just moved to Bham and just got my first kite, a little rage 3.5 and a flexideck g2a (not tried them both together yet) Looking for some areas to fly, done a bit of reading and it would seem that there are limited choices. Hearsall common is ok, but grass is really long. Someone posted a link next to Sutton Park that looks good, so will try that area too. You guys seem to be local and know some spots, would you mind posting some google map links so I can see where to go? I can drive, but don't know the area well. Thank you.
  13. That's disappointing. I just moved to Brummie, read the whole thread and BOOM..
  14. I've just moved to birmingham n Just found this place.. Anyone fly here often?
