  1. Yeah it's been hard work and wind far too strong for learning on the 4m until lately, when it has been conversely completely still. Thankfully, if it's too blustery at Otterspool (where the 4m Pansh Ace rode me, rather than the other way around), Sefton Park seems to be shielded better and wind seems about 20-30% less violent but 20-30% more consistent Just bought another 2m 4-line from a guy here, for higher winds (when I am not dumb enough to try 4m!).
  2. As above - flat spots on tyres can be a nightmare - I use Falken FK-452 on my car, and as they wear down, they seem to cause horrific vibration near the end of their life for example. If the vibration is kicking in at a certain speed as you mention, does it go away again if you speed up a bit? Ball ache, for sure, but try getting wheels balanced by someone else too. When I had my first car (Fiesta) the Ford official dealership balanced my front wheels 3 times and couldn't get it right. Went to another Ford dealer who reckoned someone hadn't even bothered and it was sorted first time. Plus, the balancing weights can come off easily - especially the glued on type (glued inside the rim as opposed to hanging over the lip).
  3. Better than my missus. Though out of the blue Modern Warfare 2 appeared on release day once. And she got me a Fatboy beanbag ... 'Grats nonetheless!
  4. There was no rhyme nor reason; just pure opportunism. You only have to look at the demographic of those arrested to see that it is massively varied and not just kids with no fathers and a single parent on benefits. From memory, some of those arrested (and charged?) include: * a teaching assistant * students and undergraduates * an olympics ambassador * a millionaire's daughter Now, I have seen some genuinely passionate individuals trying hard to put across their voice and stating that where they were once a silent part of society, they now have a voice and seem to have people (the media) listening. This may be true for some of the 'rioters', but it was mostly mindless - driven by greed and selfishness. One guy was saying that there were no opportunities and no hope for the future for many youths - which may, or may not be true. But mindless violence and theft of goods is surely not the way to a future of hope, is it? Neither is people being murdered. People can try and put a logical explanation down for the rioting, in order for people to feel like "there's some logic" but I think we all know that it's removed from the truth of the matter. Parents have a big part to play in setting examples for their children, but then we all have to set good examples in society, even if we don't have children. Then again, it's easy to be objective from a perceived ivory tower, isn't it!
  5. The 4.0m arrived yesterday, all looks great - hopefully take her out for a test on Saturday if the weather permits. Thanks again for the time and effort for a newly registered member
  6. Morning all. I'm still quite new to this lark, but based in Liverpool city centre. I only have a 2-line at present (HQ Symphony Beach 2.1m), but about to pick up a 4-line 4m Pansh Ace for some lower-wind static/scudding learning. Using Otterspool Promenade when it's quieter at the moment, but you do get a few people getting in the way a bit. Hopefully will get a chance to meet folk in the future
  7. Afternoon there; been keeping an eye on this for a few days and registered on the back of it - interested in the 4.0m - is it still available? I've not seen another post about it, but always prudent to check in advance. Thanks, tsf.
