    Aberdeen anyone?

Is there anyone actually doing anything up here or is everyone gone on permanent holiday.
  2. Does he mean cervical spine as in your neck or did he get confused with your lumbar region as in lower back?
  3. Cheers Geoff I didn't think i should go into too many things or the post would never end.
  4. 1. Increase in energy would have an increase in (entropy) heat so Polar ice caps would melt causing a rise in sea levels and the mass extinction of most of the species that require the conditions provided (polar bears, penguins)... OR 2. Think the film the day after tomorrow would happen first... collapse of the north atlantic current as the change in salinity or whatever reason they give. The massive change in topography of the planet could disrupt the gulf stream so a massive climatic change all round? 3. Then there would be an increasing demand for space... massive population boom would have everyone demanding more space, then more material goods would need to be made so more production and more pollution. UNLESS some of the energy is used to filter the air and purify it, and the materials removed could be converted back to elements for production... the CO2 taken out could be converted back to carbon and oxygen allowing for more thermal release from the planet reducing the likelihood of 1 &/or 2. The energy itself could allow for massive advancements in science and knowledge by allowing every pc to be permanently powered on a massive scale distributed computing network think folding@home, communitygrid, GIMPS Tech advances would be great as well as the limiting factor is the time to try every permutation of possibilities. (think lighter and lighter materials for planes/kites so less fuel required for space travel then bring back materials from the stars. The list is endless...
  5. how about have fat people use bikes attached to dynamos linked into the grid. fat people could really power the nation and lower use of oil and coal stations
  6. I would strap a jet engine to the back of a buggy, and some skids to the bottom (maybe a seat belt too) and go find me a beach. Then I would light it up and go have some fun over the pond, up some hills, down some dales.
  7. I am now nocturnal so it doesn't really matter not getting to bed at night. Also I am going over to Islay in the next couple weeks and will be bringing back a little something something to help (hopefully a cask or two).

    PaySafe

Has anyone every heard of or used paysafe? I was responding to an online ad and was asked to use paysafe by the seller. I have asked if they would accept a paypal transfer and they haven't had a chance to respond yet, but i was wondering if the paysafe thing can be trusted.
  10. All i will say is that if the violence spread up to Scotland... I will personally find the person that started it and kick their ass from here to kingdom come. especially that Glaswegian twat! serves him right getting arrested for it. I like the logic of the looters... "We are getting our taxes back..." yeah and what do you think your taxes for the next year will be spent on... oh that is right replacing all the stolen stock and paying for repairs to damaged shops... buying new buses/cars.

    Aberdeen anyone?

I am just looking for someone that can give me a hand with things if i need assistance
  12. One of the Ikea bags would do the job nicely i think.
  13. Simply put: A light year is a unit of measurement of length i.e. The distance that light can travel in one year. A lightyear is close to 10 trillion kilometers so when we can see "90- odd billion light years"... (10^13)(9*10^9) gives you 9*10^22 kilometers... To put a little perspective on it,... 56 sextillion miles or the lengthy 56,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 miles The universe is 13.7 billion, (13,700,000,000) years old and we can see only so much of it. Simple
  14. I would stop whatever killed all the dinosaurs and see how evolution should have gone without the intervention from beyond the stars.

Alrighty people is there anyone still active up here?
  17. load more black people if you stopped continental drift... EDIT: that is if you follow the out of africa hypothesis
  18. The question was about nations and not land masses therefore my choice of Zimbabwe as a nation and not as a land mass is a valid one even under the scrutiny of the logic that you have put forward. The idea of everyone going vegetarian is not a bad one as such, just not perfectly thought out. The lack of meat would create a lack of protein. Many countries in Africa would not be able to get enough protein in their diets. The only way to get enough protein would be through extensive trade for other food stuffs which is not possible due to the distance and time that such items would need to travel.
  19. I put my vote in for Zimbabwe... if we didn't have Mugabe and the military in Zimbabwe then the british farmers that were tending the land could have stayed and helped to improve the land. The agricultural state of the country would have then increased and this knowledge would have been passed onto further generations and neighbours. The increase in crop yeild and viability would have allowed a small part of Africa to pull itself out of poverty and also help to feed many of the starving nations. This increase in food and the ease at which it can be garnered would have reduced the number of children that many people had, as there was no need for them to help farm the land. This drop in the requirements of children would have lowered the population growth rate to a sustainable level and so disease throughout the country would not be as easily transmitted. Also due to the lack of medication a reduction in kids would have limited the spread of HIV and AIDS which is a good thing all round. Back to topic: If there was a viable food source then many developed countries round the world would no longer need to spend so much money and resources sending aid to the countries that we do. This increase in living standards may have averted civil hardship as the countries would be more content to live with each other whilst there was a mutually beneficial exchange of knowledge and resources.; The reduced demand on space would allow for much of the land to be turned to more globally useful pursuits... solar energy production, wind farms... thus reducing the need for oil, coal and other fossil fuels. The knowledge would allow for many more studies to be undertaken in genetic diversity which may allow for many cures to be found. Just a few thought on things
  20. Steve my open toe bindings are the easiest thing to get into even when dry and they hold like i don't know what... and how does a bit of material over your toes give you more control? i don't know but i don't think my toes are capable of bending the board so the control comes from your foot as a whole regardless
  21. I would sell you my old one but i am a bit bigger than you so the board is pretty big and the bindings wouldn't fit either so you are less than half way there.
  22. powerballs and those grippy strengthener things for hours a day everyday and you will have no problem... sounded like an average day for me. I used to have the grip trainers with me at school all day under the table... got a few funny comments out of it but oh well. I used to do waterski racing and you were racing for up to 80 minutes a race going at a fair rate so grip was important. plus try doing an english exam 2 days later and writing 10 pages in like 2 hours
  23. The problem isn't the board it is your source of power... the boat or the wire systems aren't exactly cheap. I've been wakeboarding and waterskiing for years and can safely say they are not cheap sports
  24. >>clicky Mine is a bit... long
  25. Yeah but geoff a little bit more RAM keeps things running faster longer... A 3-4GB system with a decent i5 would keep running for years to come but a 1GB on an basic i3 will need to get an upgrade in only a few years.
