  1. Hmm, my sister's birthday. Might be tight, will have to see what happens. Sigh. Life always interfreres with kiting.
  2. I just saw this thread. Actually I didn't know there even WAS a land-yacht club in Adelaide, so I'm glad to hear about you. Let us know if/when there are any more events, or if you blokes are out doing a run somewhere- if I get the chance I'd love to come out & learn some skills.
  3. Looks damn good. Hopefully next weekend will be just as good...
  4. Now that's service. Where are you off to this weekend, anyway Slarti? Goolwa again?
  5. He's being quiet because he's spending time putting it all onto a video format...
  6. I've got yardwork lined up for this weekend, and a 6m skip to fill with junk. So my buggy definately won't be getting used this weekend...
  7. Looks like an excellent deal! Location? Where are you? And can you post to Adelaide?.....
  8. Dang. Looks like a hell of a lot of potential there.... Nice one Slarti.
  9. Boom, I'm in for the $200 one, whichever one it is I'll even cough up for postage if I can't pick it up. Where's that BobM I gotta send him a PM...
  10. Links deleted... Wow, I feel a bit bad about starting the topic now... Joel, if you want to delete the topic completely, I certainly won't object. I think I've gotten enough answers from people to be able to help my friend make a decision.
  11. Hey, I support that, and I'm not generally impressed with the idea either. I think he's better off getting the established brand. I figured they're probably knock-offs, and that coming from China, they will be cheap and nasty. But I don't want to get into an argument about morals with him- I'd much rather be able to say something technical like "the rods they use has a lower specific density and is going to break faster". So how can I find that stuff out? I mean, it's ebay, I can get him to ask questions and they'll get posted up onto the product, so hopefully it may stop others getting them too. Is there somewhere I can go to study up on kite materials so I know what to ask?
  12. Hey guys. A mate of mine is interested in getting a Rev after flying mine. He came across these rev kites on Ebay- they're from China. Any opinions on them? Should he buy American instead? Are they too cheap and crappy to be worth getting? What sorts of questions should he be asking the seller to verify that they won't fall apart after the first few flights? 13. Mate, I'm in for another Prism Quantum. I'll PM you with my contact details.
  14. ...And recieved! Flew it last Sunday in the afternoon- very nice! I'm looking forward to working out how to do a half-axel....
