  1. Hi, I've not sold anything on here before but thought I'd see if there was any interest before I try eBay! Selling my Flexifoil Blade V, 6.5m as I'm trying to fund a kitesurf kite! Kite plus; extreme lines and pro handles, bag, kitestakes. Kite has only been flown a handful of times, never crashed and is in fantastic condition (almost as new) as are handles, lines and bag. Open to sensible offers so please PM me - trying to get some pics and will upload soon any questions please just ask!
  2. Hi, I'm selling my 1.7m Flexifoil sting, in Hulk. Bought in April this year and flown a handfull of times - no apparent signs of damage or scuffs. £80 ono - including postage to UK only Complete with Kite, bag, lines (20m), handles, kite killers and instructions. This is a great kite if your starting out powerkiting, if you want a v. high wind kite or for someone smaller! Will upload pics as soon as I can - pm me for more details. Si
  3. What was also daft was that the ambulance crew didn't have the keys to the gate at LH! Apparently only the coastguard have them. Seems daft to me as we had to wheel him halfway across the field!
  4. He's ok thanks. In hospital waiting for the opp on Thursday. No, there wasn't any real fuss from anyone, just lots of onlookers! No spinal board, they forgot to put on in the ambulance. We couldn't lift him so he pulled himself up onto the stretcher - crazy fool!! The paramedics were great but u'd have thought that in the 40min wait for the ambulance they could have kitted it out properly!! Anyway at least he's getting there and it's a hell of a lot less serious than it could hae been Si
  5. The new blade's are definately easier to fly but in hindsight it wasn't the right day for it. Far too gusty, only realised that at the last minute though. Just heard that my mate fractured his L1 (lower spine). Waiting to hear more in the morn but he should be ok! Thanks again to the guys who came over Si
  6. well basically it was a small static jump on a 6.5m blade v that caught a gust and became a larger jump. Very awkward landing. Just heard from the hospital, Tom's going for CAT scan now, doc reckons it's a broken back. Not good:(
  7. Hi all, Not sure the of your name but thanks to the guy (buggy and blue HQ or Ozone kite I think) who help me and my cousin out today at LH while we were waiting for the ambulance!! Will hopefully be back out there again soon but without the need for the emergency services!! Thanks again Si
  8. Well I definitely think the Blade V flys better than its predecessor in low winds - because that's all I've had "round my way" since buying it!! Why cant we have a bit of a steady breeze instead of this bloody, sorry lovely, heatwave? Now they're talking about flash floods in the UK - come on! All I want is 15knots of wind!! That aside its still great fun to fly even in low winds!!
  9. Hi Blader - what sort of price are you after for this kite? Si
  10. Hi, Just thought I'd share a few pics of the new Blade 5, 6.5m flying at Lordshill rec on Sunday - wind wasnt great but I was itching to fly it so didnt really care. http://www.flickr.com/photos/simonsl8er/sets/72157620736014642/ Hoping to get out there again one eve this week if the wind picks up so may see some of you down there... Si
  11. Managed to get the kite out for a bit at Lordshill yesterday eve - wind wasnt great, but the kite was!! I've only flown a mate's Blade IV 6.5m a few times so I wouldnt say I'm any sort of expert on the Blade IV but the 5 seems to turn just as quickly, if not slightly quicker, and I find it slightly easier to handle. Still has masses of power and during the 2-3 hours or so that I flew it over the weekend it didnt "wrap up" on itself in low wind turns as much as my mates B IV did. Anyway, here's a few pics of it that I've put on flickr - apologies for the quality, despite being roasting hot Southampton was a bit overcast!! http://www.flickr.com/photos/simonsl8er/sets/72157620736014642/ Si
  12. Just picked up my new Flexifoil Blade 5 6.5m - was a bit unsure of the colour from the pictures but in the flesh it 10x better, looks awesome. :D There's absolutely no wind where I live so i'm totally gutted as I cant get out and fly it! Hoping that it will pick up tomorrow - fingers crossed. Has anyone else picked up their new Blade 5 yet? Any "first flight" stories would be appreciated - just to give me something to read while I wait for the wind!! Si
  13. Hi, not sure if you've looked at the MBS boards but I bought my first landboard the other day - MBS Core 95 and its great. The 90 is probably a bit better for you as its shorter and you may be able to stretch to one of the Comp boards for £250 if you haggle a bit with the shop!! Hope this helps S
  14. thanks guys! Think I'm going to go for the 4.9 blade and my local kite shop will do the 25% off thats been put about on some of the online stores which is cool! Off to Cornwall (St Ives) for a week in June so should get some decent, clean, wind to try it in!! Thanks again! Si
  15. Hi, Just been reading through this thread as I'm looking to buy a Blade 4.9 (or at least I think I am!). I had a go with my mates Blade IV 6.5 the other night and it kicked the hell out of me and had me slightly scared at one point - it was 18mph wind but not sure if thats too high or not for that kite.... Might be worth pointing out that I've only really flown my Rage 3.5 so far and been doing it for about 2 months... So - do I go for the Blade IV 4.9 (as there's 25% off at the moment) or do I go with the 4.7M rage? I'm looking for something that will be good for the board and also a bit of fun static flying without being too scary! Si
  16. Hi Martin, Farley Mount is just the other side of Hursley (on the road to Winchester) - the large amount of trees about make it better for static flying on a windy day. Danebury is much better and at the top of the hill so pretty much any wind direction is ok - just watch out for the sheep if they're in the field!! Will definately try and get down to L' Hill next Sunday - fingers crossed for some wind! S
  17. Hi Martin, thanks for the reply will have to check out some of those places soon. As for places to fly in Romsey - um, quite poor I'm afraid. There's Farley Mount (ok for landboards if the wind is in the right direction possibly) but due to the trees it can be a bit gusty! Danebury (the field next to the Hill Fort) - I havent seen any restrictions on flying here... Just been down to Highcliff beach today - seems to be quite good in the evening when the tide's out but again not sure of the restrictions on flying. Other than that there's Hensgistbury Head (bit further afeild) but your limted to 3.5m kites and no boards - but there is a really good shop about 200m away from the feild/beach! Si
  18. Hi all, I'm pretty new to kiting and live near Southampton - was just wondering where the best places to fly are around this area? and while its great fun messing about with the kite on my own (my mates that fly live the other side of Basingstoke) it'd be good to meet up with some other kiters in the area... Thanks! Si
