NO no no no:eek: . I'm down the beach with my flexi 4-5 times a week and all i do is hose it down at the end of each day and let it dry in the shed. As for lowering the seat, I've just put a swan neck on mine, dropped the seat around 6".

If you are looking for a fixed bridle i'd go for the sami's, rage's, cults or bullets they are all very good kites. ( I like the sami's the best )

e.g. 6m Access can be flown in 4mph winds to 35mph winds if you know what your doing. A rage 4.7 can be flown in 4mph wind to around 20mph winds ( i think ).

2.5 to a 7 is a big jump. I would try a kite around the 5m mark. Depower is the way foward ( 6m access or something ) Kite safe dude
