That's exactly the point... My GT is Schern if anyone wants to add me. Usually found on COD:WaW but I'm tempted to jump back on COD4 for a bit.

Yep, was a really good day. Perfect weather to start to get the hang of the Venom and the intricacies of launching it without bow-tieing (only really managed one launch without either me or Mark having to chase it round the beach to try and unwrap it from itself though). Was good to meet you House and thanks again for letting me have a go in your buggy, was really good fun, apart from me looking like an idiot when I got out and turned it round by hand and then got back in lol. In hindsight i should have zenith'd the kite whilst i'd still got a reasonable bit of speed on and turned it like that. I was really impressed with how direct the steering was on it as well. Just the smallest adjustment and you changed direction! Makes me want one now, but transporting it may be an issue!

£950 sounds about right for a 17yr old. If not maybe on the cheap side. Is that in your name with yourself as the main driver? What type of Polo is it? I've just bought a Mk3 Polo as a 2nd car (was going to be mine but I can't get it over the speed bumps at work so my wife has it now). Might be worth checking out Club Polo for ideas if your interested in doing a few bits and pieces to it.

That shouldn't be too much of a problem. I don't have a buggy! Does the same go for boarding too? Or is it kiting in general that's not allowed? I'm assuming it states it all pretty clearly on the sign, but I've never ventured that far up the beach as its a long old walk! Hopefully see you sunday... Hello. Don't think I've said Hi in here before so thought I'd say one now. I live in Peterborough but am originally from Boston and pretty much all my family is there so spend a fair amount of time there. Tend to travel to Skeg or Mabo fairly often for some kiting. Last time we were there (Sunday before last IIRC) we had a chat with Softmint who was out in his buggy and he said that quite a few people from here are at Mablethorpe fairly often and to keep an eye on this thread for info on when people are heading out. I'm hoping to be out this Sunday as if all goes to plan I should be picking up a 13m Venom II on Thursday and want to take it out for a fly asap! Just wondered what sort of time (if anyones going) people would be there for? I've also got a white and black Ace and a Petrol 3.3m Sting. The mate I usually fly with has a 4.9m Midnight Blade IV so if you see anyone matching that description down their then feel free to come and say hello! Thanks Oliver

I was a bit worried about not being able to rev a diesel as I like to be able to use the top end, but I've not had any issue with the change from petrol to diesel. I can rev the vRS pretty much all the way to the redline before the power noticeably drops off, but with the torque available so low down its a lot easier to drive round town. I think peak torque kicks in at 2300rpm and peak power at 3750ish, but it still pulls nicely up to 4000, after that its a bit out of breath. For around £400 you can get a custom map done which will push the power up to around 180bhp and torque to around 300lb/ft iirc, although thats maybe pushing the standard clutch a bit far.

I've got a Fabia vRS and I'm really pleased with it. Got it August '06 and I'm now knocking on towards 30k miles. The only thing thats needed replacing and it was annoying rather than a fault was the anti-roll bar links needed replacing as they were knocking over speed bumps. Think the bushes had failed. Since that, no problems at all. If I'm being good I can get 60mpg on a 40 mile run. If I'm being bad I still get over 45mpg, although this will drop if your hammering it round town a lot and not doing any A roads. Its all nice a solidly put together and is reasonable to service and run. Tyres aren't too expensive, and I always go top end (Eagle F1's). I got through a set of fronts in just under 20k I think, which considering the amount of torque going through the front wheels I was impressed with. I thought I'd get through a set in 10k! Out of the choices you've put up there are faster cars, but the Skoda has its own charm and is a bit different. I don't regret buying mine. They also seem to hold their value quite well, which should always be a consideration when your spending that type of money on a car.

Another vote for Dimebag Darrell from Pantera. Check out 3 minutes onwards for one of my favourite solos ever... Maybe not to everyone tastes but its mental and not as showy as Vai or Malmsteen. I'd also say that Josh Homme from Kyuss and QOTSA is worth a mention too.
