How from my post: "There is no damage to the kite that I can see. The spars look well used as do the pockets and the bar. But all fully functional and in working order." Or in the pictures for that matter do you conclude: "It does sound/look like it needs a few replacements to make it safe to go again." from?? I don't want to get in an argument but there's a big difference from looking well used to not safe don't you think? Kite has sold now in anycase. Thanks for everyone's interest.

No one interested? Offers?

Now with pictures. http://picasaweb.google.com/richard.ian.brown As you can see the kite is in very good condition, with no repairs, good colours and feels crispy still. The bag, bar, lines are well used but in working order. Given condtion of kite looking for £200 + pp. On ebay Sunday if no interest. Cheers Richard

Looking around it seems these go for around the £200 mark. Offers around that mark would seem fair.

So what better than a big floaty twin skin? I'm forced to sell my Peter Lynn Phantom 15m RTF. There is no damage to the kite that I can see. The spars look well used as do the pockets and the bar. But all fully functional and in working order. I'm reluctantly selling as I haven't flown it (or any other kite) for nearly a year due to injury, and that doesn't look like changing anytime soon. Make me a sensible offer?

Take a look at 3dTracking http://3dtracking.net/ You can store history upload to google maps, or virtual earth. I've tried the free version on my XDA Orbit and it works ok. I'm sure the paid version will be better though. http://free.3dtracking.net/ There are others also (Google it) but I haven't tried them.

It's child abuse plain an simple. The authorities need to take a long hard look at these people.

The power lines are the ones in the center that attatch to your bar / harness. These connect to the top / leading edge of the kite. The Brakes attach to the edges of your bar and the bottom / trailling edge of the kite. When the bar is out the effect is to make the kite sit more horizontaly when you pull in the bar it has the effect of shortening the brake lines changing the angle of the kite, and making it point slightly upwards hence creating the lift. I don't think you want to be adding extra knots to the power lines, the trim strap can be used to change the power in that way without knotting your lines. Re the autozenith, I find it works ok but in wind that changes frequently (seems to be the norm inland where I fly) not great. Richard

Whatever I fly in land in nice inland wind but not beach clean wind and it works fine for me nearly everytime... never had any luck with the video method. Loads of people have grief with the proper method and I have never pulled it off, I notice the arc flyers around me have moved over to "my" method too. Whatever works for you mate! I have PM'd the guy so if he wants help in Norwich I have offered. LOL! Sorry Pete didn't mean to drag you into that. In my opinion it's worth a try if nothing else. I've tried the way in the PL video, so I'm willing to give this a go too. I can't fly until the doc says so but when I get a chance (in the comming months) I'll be sure to let you know how I get on. Cheers Rich

Yeah more or less, I lie the lines out all ready to go with the bar on the ground, then I let it half inflate, then hold the kite so that the wind is blowing evenly on the kite then when I let go it blows down wind but because the wind is square onto the kite it blows evenly down wind (9/10) then I run back and grab the bar which is shooting along the ground, hook in and pull the middle lines. The trick with under inflation is not to pull too hard on the middle lines and to keep the bar in a little to make the kite keep its shape and not bowtie - if you don't apply a little bar pressure once you have pulled the middle lines in she will flip and bowtie (MOST annoying) especially if not inflated too much. Then once it is getting nearly inflated fly it to the side of the window, yank the middle lines and she is ready to fly. I know it sounds strange but I fly most days weather permitting and it works a treat for me. I tried the "recommended" way but ended up getting my board stuck in my kite and I have never managed to launch that way. I have noticed some arc flyers around me have also started using this method too.... (that said I fly in nice cleanish winds and not horrible "local field" winds, i guess launching from the ground using this method could be a pain) Cheers Pete, I'll give that a try next time I'm out. Ditto that go see a doctor, I 'slipped' (Prolapsed) 3 disks in my neck this presents as upper back / shoulder / arm pain. Don't self diagnose or worst let others on the internet diagnose you, we all know our own bodies. If somethings wrong get it seen to... properly, that means a doctor. (God I'm starting to sound like an old man!)

So Pete I'm interested do you lay it out like a foil and pull on the center lines as the poster above says? I have a 15m and have not flown it much to be honest but always struggle to launch without a friend. In my experience under inflation is the biggest problem.

I think you'll find it easier to fly a Arc with someone to help with the launch. I went from a 4m Crossfire to a 15m Phantom, I weigh 12st. The auto zenith is great much easier to try and board with than a fixed bridal. I struggle to launch the thing on my own, it's not impossible though. All that said once it's up it will stay up. It'll not stall in the same way your Blade will. In 20-25mph the 15m will pick me up off the ground without jumping. (With the bar in) Go for it I say, just be careful (10-15mph first) and find someone to fly with. Once they try it you'll not get them away from your kite anyway. :-) Cheers Rich

They are older, also Phantoms are as I understand it specifically designed for land use and are hard to relaunch on water because of the high aspect ratio. Though that same thing will mean big floaty jumps :-) What do you weigh? The reason I ask is I have a 15m Phantom RTF for sale. They are also IMO tricky but not impossible to launch on your own, but super stable once they are up and brilliant at handling gusty inland conditions. Cheers Rich

I think this is a fairly old model board now. I brought it at Christmas from PowerkiteShop and to be honest have never manageged to get going on the board so is pretty much new except for some mud from the field and my shoes. I think it was £149 new, I'm looking for a sensible offer say £70 + whatever P&P is. I can send pictures if you want to take a look at the condition. P.S I honestly don't know what the going rate is for these, anyone feel free to tell me if I've got the price way out from market value? Cheers Rich Looking at ebay it seems the Photon is the replacement for this board and you can get one of those new for £90. With that in mind I guess a price of £50 + PP is nearer the mark. The kite is RTF has no repairs, and I'm looking for £250

I'm selling all my kit! 15m Phantom RTF (I think the bar is a zero 4...think) some visible wear on the spar pockets. But no damage that I can see to anywhere on the kite. Also included in the sale is my harness it's cheap and has bad reviews but it has done me no harm (eolo radsail harness) And a barely used Scrub Demios board. Also some pads and a helmet if wanted. The kite flys great and I'm gutted I have to sell it but it's doctors orders. Make me a sensible offer for all or parts? We'll have to add postage on, the cost of which I will find out once I know who is interested if anyone and what they are interested in. Alternatively I'm in the midlands if you want to take a look. I can not give demos (for the reason above, doctor) but you are welcome to look first. If I don't get any worthwhile offers it'll go on ebay next week. Cheers Rich

Is it possible the bridle has become tangled whilst packed away / unpacked? I had a similar issue with a crossfire turned out the bridle was tangled (which was surprisingly hard to spot!) Rich
-
Sorry dude but as I said I ended up with a Phantom 15m instead. For the rest of you price clarified /\/\ he'll take £190 + pp. Also, have a bump on me. Rich
-
I Offered him £190 + PP + immediate payment via paypal, and he still said no. I think he wants to keep it really or wants money it's just not worth. Did me a favour too though as I ended up with a Phantom 15 rtf with no repairs for only £50 more than he's asking for. P.S. I've no beef with this guy by the way just pointing out chunkus04 is right, there's no point keep bumping your threads up to the top saying you'll take offers if you clearly won't. Good look with the sale Adam. Rich

Thanks guys for all the advice and help. Really looking forward to taking this thing out, though it doesn't look like we'll have any wind until Sunday . No doubt I'll be back on here to let you know how it all goes. Cheers Rich

Thanks! Rich

Cheers. Is there any particular knack to launching (as I fly solo), I've read the following: Make sure it's fully inflated (or as best as I can), then to launch pull the center lines only (which should be attached to the leading edge, and furthest away from me. This will make the kite 'stand up' and hopefully launch. Is that correct? Is the easiest way to land to just fly it out of the side of the window whilst fully depowered, or will it just turn and try to correct it's self? Cheers Rich

Can't wait to get out and try it, what's the lowest wind these things will fly in as it looks like we're destined for a week without wind . Will I just frustrate myself trying to fly in in 10mph winds? Thanks Rich
-
I second that! Just sold my crossfire. I've got a 15m Phantom on the way , can't wait to see if I can pull off some of the big jumps you see in the vidios.
