OK, well it's been forever since I posted, but, I did paris on a shoestring budget back in 2002, and had a real blast.
The Eiffel Tower, you have several options, you can walk most of the way, cheapest. You can walk half, take the lift for half, or do lifts for the whole way, We found best time was first thing in the morning, as fewer people and less queues.
Metro is a great way to travel round, just like the underground, get a map and a day pass, and just pick a station and go exploring.
Notra Dame is well worth a visit, and then you can actually stroll along side the river which is really cool of an evening, and watch the Lights of the city come to life.
Moulin Rouge is worth every penny, yes you get dinner and the show, but be warned, it's in the seedy area, and just down the road from there is the sexm museum, always good for a giggle, and for about 5 euros it's a great way to kill an hour or two.
If your gonna take taxi's anywhere, make sure you know the exact address of where your going, and I mean road, area etc, and agree fare in advance, I got caught out, as one driver took me to wrong side of the city coz two streets named the same.
Loads of great shopping, food places and some of the little back street cafe's are really great value for money.
And one last thing, don't try crossing the road to get to the middle of the Arc' De T, as you will most likely get hit by some mad french driver, I did!!!!
