Selling along with Ozone Instinct Light II 7m (see separate thread) to make way for new C4. Atom 08 9m. Full kite with bar and lines £250. Has one small cut (about 2cm) on canopy near leading edge which I did just after getting it new in 2008. Patched with tape and has been fine since (see pics).

Selling Ozone Instinct Light II 7m and Flexifoil Atom 08 9m (see separate post) as I have a new 9m C4 coming. Ozone Instinct Light II 7m. £350 for full kite including bar and lines. This kite is in exceptional condition. Bought for the missus to learn with, which she never did so it has only been flown a few times by me. Unfortunately I have a newer Instinct Sport+ 7m so don't need two 7's. Great condition bargain kite for somebody. I also have a spare 5 line set of ozone lines which will be thrown in as I have no further need for them.

Try Otterbox.com Got one for a nano and it is waterproof, drop proof etc. First saw it on the gadget show. They do all sorts of cases for ipods, iphones and pda's so might have something to fit what you need. -
Just sold my old 06 11m with upgrade to 07 safety. I'm about your weight and found it fine from about 15 mph. I did have Druncan's old 06 13m for a while and just found that it wouldn't fly at 15 mph because it was too heavy and slow to respond. Once it got to 18 mph it was just about flying Ok but I was almost immediately over powered. Never had any problem with the 11m which I used up to about 30 mph until I got a 9m. I reckon the 13m is for bigger folk in a slightly stronger wind. Stick with the 11m. I've just repaced mine with a new 11m Sport +.

I've the standard GoPro, not the HD, so not sure if what I'm saying will apply to the HD or not. On thestandard GoPro it is possible to thread a thin cord or kite line between the case and the large black clip that keeps the case closed and basically tie that off in a loop and use that as a leash for the camera. OK there is always the potential that the clip could come undone but it is probably worth trying.

Another thought. If your going for a light wind kite, why not just get an 8.5 Blade (the best of all the blades IMO) and be done with it.

Get a VW. If you can't afford a T5 get a T4. Try http://www.totallyt4.co.uk/

What about the salt air your breathing in as well? Does the increase the risk and intake? Probably worse for you out on Tiree Drunc as the salt air will be all over the island!

Hi Drunc I'm still using my 06 11m and have had no bother though I do as Mark & Maggie suggest and hose off the bar and lines after every session. Have had a couple of close calls though when a full flagout safety would have been useful. Think it might be time to upgrade to this kit. Just got a 9m Atom08 and was out for the first time on that at Budle this weekend. Was well impressed. Reckon it handles the gusts better then the Instinct. Gotta get some more practice in for when we come up to yours at end of May. Can you order me some decent wind for the next few week please. Cheers

Yep! Been there a couple of years back and flown at Dillon Reservoir. About 15 mins by car to Dillon from Breck. Off out there on 12th Feb for a couple of weeks. Check out Colorado Kiteforce (local kite shop and school - only one in Colorado) in Frisco about 5 mins from Dillon who will give you the low down. The owner Anton kindly grooms the snow and has installed rails and there's normally a few kickers built by the locals. Also supposed to be some back country stuff up at Loveland Pass, which is back towards Boulder. Personnally we had really bad winds out there last time. 0 mph then sudden gusts to 35+ or dead light steady 7mph so didn't really get a good feel for things. We're not bothering taking kites this time and will just hire from local shop if the wind is decent, plus we stop with a friend that lives in Boulder and last time we were out there managed to get him to buy a couple of kites and get flying, so I'll be on for pinching those. Oh and have a look in this months Kiteworld Mag. There is a supplement with snow kite locations and it has details on Colorado/Dillon.

Cheers folks. Tis an 06 I have. I've tried the leash on the trimmer and it was this set up I was asking about. And yes it is a right nuisance having the leash attached here and have given up on this and use connected just above the chicken loop now. Will try pulling in a back line to flag the kite, before doing any mods. I've looked at Ozones site today and the new 07 set up looks a darn sight better. Still love the kite though. Thanks for the help.

Ok so I have an Ozone Instinct which is great. Safety works fine but I have a concern. Most kites when the safety is released leave the kite flapping around fully depowered. With the leash on the trimmer strop as directed by Ozone, when the chicken loop is released kite comes down on water and floats on leading edge, but there is pull on both lines/the kite. Not great if there has been a sudden change to offshore and the kite is pulling you out to sea. So back to self rescue on other kites where you'd wind in the loose line on the back of the bar, tie off this and then wind in rest of lines, what do you do with the Instinct? Is is a case of grabbing one of the back lines and pulling in a few metres of line, then tying this off then winding lines in? Can't imagine it being that easy with the kite still pulling? Anybody got any advice? Cheers

The Missus has got a Vixen. God it's so light - like it just floats in your hands. Wish my Airdeck was that light. Only thing I thought was the rubbers in the trucks were a bit stiff, but I ride my Airdeck really loose, so what do I know?

Looks sweet! So can we have details of where to find info on D-Ex pleaseeee!

I find 17 - 20 mph is best for 9.5 (fully powered) but I'm only 10st (don't know what that is in modern money), below that I use 8.5 Blade. I have used the Sabre below 17 but don't find it as satisfying to use. Based on that I'd say it could easily go mid 20's depowered, but where I live the predominant wind seems to get really gusty (offshore westerlies) beyond 20 when I find the Sabre not so good - it's OK when the gust variance is about 5 to 7 mph but anything more and the tips are bending in and the centre collapsing then exploding out. Jump heights - God knows - I can't see - just pop, hang on and go for the ride!

Cheers Everybody The one I have doesn't have the grab rails and has been fine for over a year despite being dropped a fair bit and having had some fairly bouncy landings, but I'm just over 10 stone. Grab handle is going on today then.
-
Cheers Davey. It's the 04/05 version with carbon laminate deck that I've had a year. I've seen one of these dropped from height in a jump and it just split in half. I just don't want to unnecessarily weaken the board by drilling a couple of holes in to bolt on a grab handle. I'd rather do without the handle and save the board.

Hi, Anybody fitted a grab handle to an AirdecK? I know there has been talk about the Airdeck being weak. Before I fit a grab handle I was wondering if anybody else had already fitted one to an Airdeck before and whether they had any problems with the deck being weaker as a result? Also if you have, did you fit it centrally to the board or toward the forward edge to get over the offset shape? Any help appreciated. Cheers
