  1. I'll second that..had my B2 out in silly winds where any movement of the kite overhead resulted in serious lift (im 90+Kg) had the most air to date that day, only managed 2 jumps before my arms had blown to bits. was gettin easy 20M downwind..no way i could walk back upwind with the kite..had to drop it an drag it back up on the brakes, that was hard work an all..all in all, scary & very humbleing
  2. lol..thats why they say theres only 3 settings.. Is a great kite..wasnt overly impressed with mine when i first got it..being used to the raw power from the B2 i found it a bit tame, but after a few good sessions on it im warming to it..even if it is a bit of a pussy-cat
  3. as above.. little tip tho, ASDA sell them too in the pet bit. Get a little carabina to clip your parking loops in quick & easy. Works well on the beach, can imagine it bein a pain to screw into a field tho. Also got a loooong 10mm diameter peg/stake with an 8ball on the top made by one of the guys off here..use that most of the time as i can just chuck the chicken loop over the top, easy peasy
  4. will have to get down with you guys before the big freeze sets in..sounds like fun
  5. i was playin on my vew-do board in the gym & one of the guys started chatting..askin what i was doin & why. Told him it was to try improve my balance & technique for kiteboarding..he went on to say he'd been down BRS with his missus a couple of times over summer..said there were loads of those "3-wheeled things" zipping up an down
  6. well..had a good weekend, but did no flying..was nuclear where we were..dunno about about the beach, didnt even go for a looky
  7. whats the score with KJ..bein a Llandudno local, do you rekon im gonna have to pay to fly my local beach..lol..not gonna happen dim arian at the mo..just abouts to move into our first pad
  8. be down that way..mostly falling over around Porthcawl somewheres anyone else playing out..or got any better places to play..
  9. was..although the beach was even more 'wet-shore' than usual..pot-holed too in front of the car park leaving the spot behind the soft stuff to play. I didnt board however..would of been overpowered on my 5..so i just floated round over the sand pit practicing 360's. good night tho, went dark too early, but there was no rain
  10. wow.. ive been kiting since the beginnin of this yr. Before i even registered on the forum an learnt of tethered flying, id already had the idea when out flying. Good job im too lazy to be bothered trying it..point is, this is the first time ive really read about it in depth & seen footage. It seems a taboo subject, which IMO is wrong..new kiters should be made aware of the dangers from .day1..including something in the instruction manuals maybe. Shouldnt be swept under the carpet, just hoping it wont happen cos it aint talked about.
  11. wont work for me..
  12. for straight scuds..work the kite in a figure of 8 right in the centre of the power zone. The quicker you work it..the faster & straighter the scud will be. Another, more advanced technique is to 'kite-loop' when doing the figure of 8. Hard to explain really..when workin the kite, say from the left hand section of the figure of 8 @ 6 o'clock coming back across to the right hand section @ 12 o'clock (still with me..lol) drop the kite round to come back over to the left..but dont, hold it & send the kite round again..once, twice upto you. Then send it back over and repeat on the other side to untwist your lines

  14. yea as above really. First off i would stake out the lines and check them all. You'll probably find the brakes are a bit shorter if they are so tight on the kite. Adjust your lines so they are all equal, any tuning can be done on your leader lines (the ones on the handles that you attach too).
  15. sounds like a good plan.. is the venue dependent on wind or is it a nova thing
  16. deffo go for the 6.5 matey, in terms of performance it flys like my BII 4.9 doesn't feel much more powerful initially, but i think thats down to the 'smoothness' they dialled into this new incarnation. I use mine for landboarding with the flexi extreme bar..an its a wicked combination IMO, turns plenty fast enough for boarding, fast enough for static flying too, even on the bar. Can get higher with the bar & harness than i could with just the handles. As for colour, id say Midnight is the best..i bought Petrol, but regret it now..lol
  17. looks sweet as.. theres a bit of a step between the deck & where it mounts into the frames..is this not uncomfy on your feet after a while..??
  18. use a hacksaw & take 5mm off your existing spacers..??
  19. I've always had the intention to get out on the water..started on land @ the beginnin of this yr to get some kite & board skills. Maybe get out there next summer
  20. not really seen as hes got one already..lol
  21. your laughin with the BIV mate..ive ridden down to the beach a few times with the board strapped up in flaps of the bag..works a treat. All i was worried about is long term use of the bag like this..how well it'll last..??
  22. doh..like you say tho, better kite than you likin the idea..my missus paints murals an stuff..she might have a crack for ya
  23. nah, its just enforcement for the central mounting i think. Doesnt offer any adjustment with the wheels anyways was playing around with one of these @ a skate shop on sat. Looks cool, but its pretty chunky & heavy too
  24. '(one piece hubs as you may have gathered)' bit of clue there dude..lol.. Matt's got the right idea, get yoursel some nylon tyre levers too
  25. what ya do dude..?? I had a crackin session on me tod @ Conwy Morfa on Sat, couple of hundred metres of smoooooth sand to play on..the run did have a soft spot midway which needed some careful navigation..but just added to the fun. That was until i hauled up an decided to do some static jumping, came down a bit tricky on one jump an my leg folded under (dont think my toes have touched my ass since i was about 3), strained knee again oh well..i can walk on it this time at least..lol
