Cheers Marty, sorry about leaving out the details. been the doc at perisher med centre for the last 2 seasons. a logical choice after 15 snow seasons in my pre med school yrs instructing, patrolling and photographing in oz, nz and japan. missed the snow massively while in med school and intern slavery. got into kite surfing while living on my yacht in mackay, but find the snow stuff much easier so bought a 2.5m ozone last year. wrapped to get the antarctic job, they needed an extra doc for the new runway. u might have seen it on telly. its 70k's fro Casey and i drive a semi articulated cat up and back with a mobile ER for each flight - just in case. the windblown sustrugi surface is a nightmare but would be ok on skis or a good kart at the right speed. the summer here has been a drifter <5knots most of the time except for a few 12hr, 60knot blasts. i have had 3 sessions at 10, 20 and 7 knots. made the most of the winds with 24hr sunlight. got in the syd' morn' herald for the effort. will definitely be back in the future and hope to work on the kart design and kite expeditions in my spare time.
