  1. It's an 08 bar. 07 would be fine too though, I've got an 2007 Vegas and Rhino's...
  2. Hi all, a bit of advice needed - a while ago I dropped my kite in the water and with a drop in wind was unable to get it up again Thus, I waited to arrive at the beach - unfortunately I arrived 5 metres to the right of the beach in the rocks!! Everything was basically OK, but my lines got wrapped around the rocks and I had to cut them. So, now I'm left with a perfectly functioning bar with no lines. To buy a full replacement set of North lines is ridiculously expensive - does anyone have any suggestions of what else I could do eg. a cheaper / better bar & lines from another manufacturer, cheaper lines from somewhere else etc etc. Cheers, Ben
  3. my twopenneth... I had a Speed I 10m for a couple of years, first on the land boarding and buggying, and absolutely loved it. But, when I started going on the water with it I couldn't get on with it. The wind range seemed small and I was either under or overpowered. This may be more or the Speed I or just that kite, I don't know... But anyway, tried a couple of inflatables, had a great time, bought an inflatable and my riding progressed much quicker. But I loved the Speed on the land
  4. hi there, i fly an 07 Vegas 16 and 2007 Rhino 14 and 9 on a 5th Element bar (2008). They all work perfectly, the throw for the Vegas is slightly too long but it's not a problem, normally I just pull the stopper down a couple of inches and it's sorted. Would def reccomend that setup - as long as you have the stopper. cheers, ben
  5. Had some interest in this, anyone else?
  6. monday bump!
  7. Hi all, I'm selling my FlySurfer Speed I 10m. This is a great kite that I have had much fun with on land, both boarding and buggying, but I don't get on with it on the water hence the sale. It's not new, I have used it, but it is in good condition. There is 1 small tear that I have repaired with repair tape, it has not spread at all and does not affect the flying in any way. You can see the repair in the photos with my hand for perspective, but you don't notice it at all while flying. It comes with the bag and a tie for keeping it together - the zip on the bag does not work any more but it's still fine for carting it around in. This is a great kite, it has a lot of lift, not really for first-timers but if you know how to fly a kite you won't have a prob I want to get it sold to fund other kite purchases (already made ), so I'll let it go for £200 + £15 p+p. PM me if you're interested!! Cheers, Ben

welcome to kite surfing mike Like the man said, just keep practising, eventually you stop falling over I had a great session on saturday (well, apart from the leading edge bursting on my 14m) but when I got on the water with borrowed kit I had a stormer!!
  9. I remember reading before that some of the seriously good french guys practise here: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=chambery&ie=UTF8&ll=45.556612,5.798378&spn=0.081494,0.150375&z=13 But again I don't know about the summer restrictions. Best thing would be to get on the french forums and ask around... Let us know if you find anything out!!
  10. I'm not 100%, but I don't think it's allowed, at least in the summer. Was in Annecy last august and the lake was packed with people, didn't see any kitesurfers - I really can't see them allowing kitesurfing while it's so busy...
  11. we went to dahkla in morrocco earlier in the year, was great, I would reccomend it 7 days of kiting every day, you could do 8 hours a day if you really want...! Great sun, great kite camp, great wind, what more can i say!
  12. hi parker, i live in barcelona, so could be quite easy for me Leucate is in France, so you'll be practicing your french too! I went there last year, was cool but variable wind in the summer - really depends on the Tramontaine (northerly wind) if it's any good or not - and if the Tramontaine is blowing then it's 9/10m weather... If it's not blowing then pretty much forget it. Anyway, yeah I could possibly meet up with you guys for the Leucate bit - not sure if I've got time to head down to Tarifa but would love to. Will PM you my email, send me some more details... Cheers, Ben
  13. are you still selling these?
  14. phil, I've got a few things I could do with putting on your plastic - email me the details
