  1. Maxy The Gem flies very lightly on the line, very little pull; if you know someone who owns each kite, try them out and se which pulls the least and is most precise. There'll be no fun for your son if one or other is too twitchy and spends more time on the ground than in the air. That said, I love my Gem and have never found it to be twitchy - it really does manage to be a precision and a trick kite; many kites claim to be this, very few achieve it. Good luck and happy flying to you both.
  2. How about a Mini Gemini - Gems don't pull and you'll have great fun too!
  3. Not a lagoon, but have you thought of Watergate Bay, north of Newquay, Cornwall? Very long beach to keep your mate away from the crowds and a good surf shop that katers for kite surfers. Nic
  4. Or, for £100, you could buy 2 Sandpiper 95s from me!
  5. generally, if you mant to fly precision, fly on longer lines; fly tricks with shorter ones, which will aslo be what you want in light winds. Regards Nic

  13. This may seem an obvious remark, but the bridle may not be set up right for your wind conditions. many years ago I bought one of the old style hq tremontana and had problems flying it until I reset the bridle. just a thought.
