andrewjohn Posted June 7, 2008 Author Report Posted June 7, 2008 10m nemesis does me fine, if i can't get going on it, a bigger kite won't be much more fun to me You must be a leightweight then. I'd proberbly need at least 15 just to get going with that. Good selection so far, keep em coming. But no big flysurfers??? Quote
djstrauss281 Posted June 7, 2008 Report Posted June 7, 2008 speed 2 19. get kitesurfing in about 8/9mph(i weight 16 stone). landboarding alot lower Quote

Angry Nugget Posted June 7, 2008 Report Posted June 7, 2008 My new (2nd hand) 12m Ozone Frenzy turned up today. What do you think will be the minimum speed to get it up in the air? Not even boarding as I want to get used to it first. Quote

wenglish Posted June 8, 2008 Report Posted June 8, 2008 i use pieguys 10m x air, nice and light but powerfull kite, if i had one id use the 12m x air but sadly i dont i just have to wait for nath to come over so i can use his. Quote
mooney flyer 2 Posted June 8, 2008 Report Posted June 8, 2008 Just bought myself a 2nd hand phsyco 3 13m so will going out later to give it a light wind debut. After having had a go on one in light winds over the Barleylands kite park I wont be dissapointed. Althought my 10m Manta 1 is great fun unhooked in light winds. Quote
Gregga Posted June 9, 2008 Report Posted June 9, 2008 we have had my m8s 5.5 bullet on 100m lines in 2mph winds. and it really works. Quote
Tjah1087 Posted June 9, 2008 Report Posted June 9, 2008 we have had my m8s 5.5 bullet on 100m lines in 2mph winds. and it really works. Though the wind at that altitude may have been more than 2mph. Quote
marman Posted June 9, 2008 Report Posted June 9, 2008 12m Speed 2, starts really low and goes pretty high Quote
Smiley Mike Posted June 9, 2008 Report Posted June 9, 2008 Blade III 6.6 on handles.... will fly with no wind, only needs about 5mph to board with Quote
MADB Posted June 9, 2008 Report Posted June 9, 2008 Pansh Blaze 8.5 gets me going from 7/8mph on the wind meter but it isn’t much fun until you get to 10, that 2 or 3 mph wind speed really makes a difference. Quote
Lem Posted June 9, 2008 Report Posted June 9, 2008 14m Prima Donna had me cruising on the beach 11mph winds today Glad you like it Got a good bottom end that kite. As for me - no low wind monster in the quiver at the moment, but tempted by a 15m Da Vinci Bat after having the 12m for a bit. Goes very early on the water whilst still being reasonably agile - an impressive kite. Quote
beardyjim Posted June 9, 2008 Report Posted June 9, 2008 17m pyscho3, accept no substitute This kite was sooo much fun in Norway that it sort of paid for itself in one fortnight I'm not really sure what it gets up in but if I can get it part inflated then I'm gonna fly it Quote
wezzie Posted June 9, 2008 Report Posted June 9, 2008 Glad you like it Got a good bottom end that kite. Yeah cheers Lem only the 2nd time I've had it out, not really been any usuable wind for ages Quote
rgbartlett Posted June 9, 2008 Report Posted June 9, 2008 Angry Nugget, watch out for the safety. The 03 Frenzy was a b*gger when it was powered up and you needed to get outta jail! My girlfriend was once pulled down a beach with a 7m 03 Frenzy with the safety released, and it still had enough power to pull her (her hands digging into the sand to get purchase) downwind. My 5m used to scare the **** out of me when I yanked the safety after a buggy incident in 35mph .. so just be careful! Anyway .. low wind kites? Love my 16m V2, but I've NEVER EVER beaten a Mac Bego 6m .. it gets going in about 3-4mph, I've been boarding on grass in 5mph and over 7mph it's MENTAL. Love it. Quote
nicksubishi Posted June 9, 2008 Report Posted June 9, 2008 13m frenzy FX + MBS core 90 with super hard tyres on grass in 4mph wind 2night= 1 fat bloke with a big grin on his face after 1hr of short run boardinghttp://community.flexifoil.com/images/icons/icon10.gif Quote

flying ribster Posted June 9, 2008 Report Posted June 9, 2008 16m North rhino, i really like it or if nothing have got a boat so can wakeboard! :-) Quote
Devoted1599968706 Posted June 10, 2008 Report Posted June 10, 2008 Air Evolution 12.0 X-air. Bought it second hand from Kermitstu and I'm still very happy with it. Get's me going on hard packed sand in approx 5-6 knots doing flatland tricks and on grass in approx 6-7 knots. Could be less, but I wanna still be able to ride upwind. Quote
kraftyone Posted June 10, 2008 Report Posted June 10, 2008 It still upsets me that I sold my Gem, diving her towards the ground, tipping her onto her front and watching her slowly rise up the window was so satisfying. Unfortunately i could only crack that and the flat 540 before i got into big kites lifting me off the ground!
