I have a Bedford Rascal for sale. It is a D reg with about 87'000 on the clock, it was previously owned by an Mobile Engine techn so mechanically is very sound. I have had the van a little over 3 years and has done me well, I have done some long trips to Wallop & Camber sands from my home near Colchester in Essex, and had no problems at all. But as my family and my kit grow I have to move on to bigger things.

I am asking for £500 which is resonable IMHO so please no silly offers.

I am happy to supply better pictures than those shown below, but to be honest, if your interested you may as well come and have a proper look, you will find nothing wrong with the van, apart from some small spots of rust on the front panel & Bull bars from stone chips, the Paint is a little faided but it is an old van. The rear door lock is not working and needs replacing, most people just use a pad-lock. I had no need to fix it as my buggy rack prevented the door from opening and was padlocked in place.

This is a very good litte van and I am sorry to be parting with it but needs must:

Comes with:

MOT 7 months still to run.

New Battery with 3 year War

New Starter Moter with 12 months War

Carpeted rear.

Box for cooker and Pans on the left and cargo net on the Right wall.

Front seat covers (X2)

Buggy rack for V-MAX, PL & Flexi. (Purpose built)

87'000 Miles

Serviced in Dec 07 (New points, Condenser, Flexi Break hose, Rack Gaitors & Brake fluid)

Roof Rack

Bull Bars

Recently had two new tyres

PLEASE NOTE FROM MY HOME PC I HAVE THE USER NAME OF BLADE RIDER.

Admin haven't got round to sorting my account out yet.

what sort of mipg do you get from it? The rascals only have 1l engines don't they?

It has a 980 cc Engine, to be honest I have never worked out the MPG. just stuck a tenner in it every now and then. I don't suppose it compares with todays engines but it's not bad, doesn't burn any oil, or use any water, and it's the lowest tax band you can get, and insurance is cheap we paid £180 per year fully comp!!!!.

I got my van at the begining of March & have done one measurement. I got 32.5mpg, mix of motorway & around town. I realise all engines are different but it might give you some idea.

Based on my last trip to Camber in the van:

Fuel price was about 97p per L (not that long ago)

£20 = 20.61L = 4.53 G

Round trip distance = 201.58 miles

= 44.49 mpg

All motorway driving

Why doesn't my van do this:mad:?
