Do you lot actually know how the bpka is run, it's mell and julie who post's all your letters, all done by Mell for no Money in his spare time at nights and weekends, if Mell decides to stop you lot have nothing

that was fine back in the day...but whats the membership now? 12,000?? think the majority of them would be more than happy to pay an extra pound for a part time paperwork monkey that could print a card in less than two months. Im gonna pay 45 for my kitewing sportscover - if someone could answer an email, id happily pay £16!

I have three things to say on this topiv then im not gona bother

1) If your gonna ***** about something (such as the BPKA) the do it in the forum they set up for members to have there say and get answers to questions they can give as its a closed froum. if you just went on the BPKA forum then you would know why Wallop isnt on!

2) If your gonna quote some-one then quote their name dont delete it. I have been quoted and it appaers that my name was left off so it didnt stir more problems.

3)....actaully ive got dog **** to pick up in the garden, a far mor important job than sitting here and reading this pointless twaddle (yes i used the word twaddle!)

Ah no and 4) i still have Buggy Belts to sell. Well this is a well read thread so I thought id take advantage of it for my own ill gotten gains.... like others LOL

in this day and age everyone has the right to vote with their feet, if your not happy with something then you go elsewhere. ok wallop has been cancelled yep we are all cheesed off about that, but if you feel the need to change insurers then by all means change but what will you do when wallop is back on again ? suddenly swear allegiance to the organising group ?

yep it's £15 a year for insurance from the bpka, what do they do/provide ? well insurance. I have never had the need to use them but i believe it will work if it is needed. they may not be in your face like others but that's the way they work and the paperwork is kept to a minimum to save on the administration.

if you feel you will get a better service elsewhere then make the decision and do what you feel best.

how many people have had incidents that have needed the use of the bpka swatk bksa etc in regards to insurance, and what were their experiences of the handling of it. That is the feedback you need not the slating of a groups of people who try to provide a service at a minimal cost.

Oh my pipe is well stuffed with a pungeant mix of examples, experiences and observations picked up from seven years ...

Nope - Skye didn't ask for 'anti' propaganda. What I'm giving her is my honest opinion based on a very sensible question which she asked on a public forum - opinions I'm far from alone in sharing. Pardon me for expressing thoughts about something which I believe are important ;) Besides, she seems to have drawn many of the same conclusions as the rest of us anyway.

Derrrr - so hence the sarky 'repeated monotony' post then eh? yep - a theme as boring no doubt as posts about people trying to get straight answers about insurance - or wondering where their membership cards are, - or wondering who runs what within the BPKA and under what authority - or asking the question as to what exactly our quasi-national 'club' is doing to support the sport nationally...? People who might ask questions of the club who's stood up and stated that issues to do with securing acces weren't a concern for the vast majority of his membership...? You're right. Repeated monotony.

there you go again...

i'm glad you agree tho,, your posts are very monotonus and boring.. go preach it else where eh tobz, people only have to look at your post history to see the vendetta you have for any thing remotely connected with mell/bbc/bpka etc etc etc.. theres a good few years of it... 500 and something posts infact... welcome to the ignore list old chap.. ive been drawn in enough by it,, should have known better,, shouldnt have bitten your rotten apple...i'm sorry (for my part played) to everyone that had to endure the endless back and forth slanging you seem to cause.

ps.. DURRRR she wanted the alternatives not your personal rantings about a club she was on about leaving... DURRR DURRRRR DOUBLE DURRRR hows that attention span??

Seeing as you constantly kick the club, what have YOU done for the kiting community, and how does it compare to what they have done over the years?

The BPKA is the best insurance for my needs and requirements, so i will be renewing this year. Yes there timing is not as fast as people expect it to be, and if you ask them questions they do answer them, it can depend on HOW you ask. ie if you bleat on about something on a forum it may well not be answered, if you email one of them - they'll get back to you with an answer. Has the BPKA had anybody claim on the policy? Yes they have - so proved the ins is there and working.

lol

I think this year i will go SWATK tbh then reassess next year. Insurance is insurance in my book and as its been stated although im getting into kitesurfing im not fully there yet so BKSA are not really suitable. And between BPKA and SWATK then ive been BPKA for 5 odd years now so a change will either make me think 'what am i doing?' and ill return to bpka next year or will open up a brighter future with more events and more beaches to fly on. Unless theres an option here i missed?

Either way i know Mell aint the type of petty guy that will ban me from returning to BPKA anymore than the RAC would ban me if i went AA for a year!

People still buy into BBC/BPKA insurance sca .......erm scheme???

I assume by the fact that Wallop is cancelled that the BBC/BPKA gravy train has slowed up somewhat and the spare cash that was plentiful has dried up. You'll be telling me next that the BBCKA is so short of cash that Mell/Ian (delete as appropriate) has had to get a job!! ;)

For the same old chronies banging out the BBCKA rhetoric (they do get free kites etc for doing it I know), ask East Lindsey Council what they think of the BBC and its highly profesional (cough, cough, cough) approach to assist (apparently) in gaining beach access.  :p

People should wake up and face the fact that the one thing the BBCKA DID give its members was Wallop, which everyone will be eternally grateful for. Stop trying to make the BBCKA something far more important that it actually is.

That's a very strong statement to make!

That's a very strong statement to make!

People who have had direct dialogue with Local Authorities in trying to gain beach access for users; whom then have had the BBCKA wade in uninvited to try to 'help'; may hold a different opinion of the BBCKA compared to the masses.

Mell/Ian (delete as appropriate) stated quite clearly at Wallop 06 that the BBCKA spare cash subsidises the Wallop event. Declining numbers and a general shrinking back in the kiting market has obviously impacted on the BBCKA's funds.

I think the BBCKA chronies are a well known by all ... no need to name names;)

Like many that have been worn down, I rarely bother with the forum any more and await the inevitable ban for my slightly 'tongue in cheek' post stating my opinion. :D

They are almost as famous/infamous (delete as appropriate) as the anti-BPKA 'chronies'. :D

Even saying that, I know that the BPKA ins covers myself and others - where other ins don't cover me to fly. It covers us, it's only £15 a yr. untill i come accross a better ins for myself and wife, then we'll be continueing with it. Hey it covers us to FLY KITES

i was already considering joining BKSA, but now i see no reason not to

Sorry bit late.....head in the sand for a bit but here's my few penneth......

Well, if you're worried about support for land kiting consider this: when the BKA asked it's membership if they wanted it to look after Land Kiters as well the vote was a resounding No. So you'll just be using them for insurance. Unless you're a wave user aswell of course. I have to say the BPKA have been very supportive, as have Flexi, SWATK, SEKA and more lately the BKFA with the Campaign to Free the Fields. And now with 10mill I guess you'll get better value. What is being experienced appears to be a slight hickup whilst they get their personal houses in order.

Let me *******aise the great JFK "Ask not what your association can do for you but ask what can YOU can do for kitesports." (You is all of you who haven't signed the petition not you Bertie...unless you haven't signed ;)....and here's a suggestion.
