RS buggys are superb ,i had one with bigfoots on, thrased the hell out of it, just went completely metal in it, it flexd a bit butcoped with it admirably, kind of a lightweight race buggy, would not hesitate to buy another one

fyi - the seams on my seat came apart on my 2nd outing. Ralf is sending me a replacement and the broken seat is going back to the lab for analysis.

Hi Simeon,

I can see an eyelet in that picture. Did your seat come like that or did you put it in yourself? When there's water on the beach I always end up sitting in a puddle and it would help if there was a hole for the water to leak away!

the eyelet was already in. I think it's a recent mod to the seats based on someone recommending it after they had the same as you.

I had the same at the weekend after I went through a water channel and I was sat in a seat full of cold water. It drained out slowly but my fat arse was blocking the hole in the seat so it's not a fail safe solution.

I suspect most of the water went out of the ripped seam. :(

IMHO the swany on the RS is bob on for Bigfoot lights............:D

@Richardq, if you want a swan neck just get yours cut and welded, no need to buy a new one. If you check on an earlyer RS thread ive postes a drawing and dimentions on how to mod the existing down tube.........:D

im positive the wind wasnt more used my anometer to measure it and its neear on brand new and very accurate. as for the buggy it was smooth i think it can handle loads more. i let another guy have a go when the wind was probably about 5 mph he was using a 16mtr inflatable c-shape and he clocked just a tad under 25mph think it was about 24. something mph

Something wrong there then. You would expect to get 2-3 times the wind speed, and you'll need a pretty efficient foil for that.

25mph in a 5mph wind ? Either your windmeter's b*ggered or your GPS is.

next time il will have to borrow someone elses gps then to check its right but i know wind speed is accurate because i ve compared to other anometers and all read the same give or take a tenth of a mph

Is this a new RS Buggy speed record? (see attached GPS photo showing 51.7mph.) I recorded it on my local beach on Sunday on firm flat sand with a 3.5m Rage in 28-30mph SW wind. I was with the Racekites North meet attendees at the time.

short term report. Since I'm out of action for a while I took the chance to completely checkout my bug yesterday.

A couple of points after what must be only about 32miles riding on grass/beach - no jumping/bumping rough use.

1. Seat is ripping again in the same position as last time. I'm only 75Kg with medium build so I wouldn't say I'm stressing it. This may seem a bit weird but mine is a red seat and I was wondering if it's something to do with the different fabric that's used for the colour and the stitching between the two?

Do you have a colour/black seat?

Have you had any problems with the stitching?

2. Noticed rear axle is bent. The axle+wheels is stood seperatley on it's end in my garage - hold the wheels still and rotate the axle and I noticed the wheels pivot slightly indicating the axle is bent.

I've not really had a good look at mine, but I put this down to the bolts being bent. Or automatic Camber adjustment. No probs with stitching on my seat though and my buggy's been ragged for about a year.

My seat ripped but I put the new one on without tightening the backrest straps and it's fine so far (I'm a teensy bit more than a medium build;)).

The axle is as true as it was when I put it together despite 16 months of caning it (no jumps mind, but plenty of lumps and bumps)

when i went there ralf told me that the weight of your body should be carried by the straps that go around the side-rails, and spread out evenly between them.

if you dont adjust the seat correctly so your weight load spreads, it will rip. also the back strap shouldd not be carrying your weight, just support the back.

Had my RS a week or so and looking for a front mudguard. People are saying that RC are doing really nice ones but when i look on there wedsite they say nothing about doing a RS. I E mailed them and they asked if it was like a flexi.

I have a stanard barrow wheels all round and would love to know if anyone has got one.

Is the front end of a RS the same as a libra?
