KiteItRight Posted October 7, 2007 Report Posted October 7, 2007 wind is rubbish fromnow til next march. no where really to kite in aiya napa usually but beachaes are queit now so cdould get away with it. nearst kiteschool is in larnaca. i have alot of good mates who kite and live in larnaca so i go alot. there is a fabulous place behind the airport called parvolia. ANGELZ Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 I went for two weeks September last year, there was only one windy day. I wouldnt waste the money on the excess baggage to be honest! There is plenty to do there and I thought it was a beautiful place. Busses run everywhere for about a pound and you can hire a mountain bike for about £10 a week to go off n explore. Some awsome sea caves there and the water is lovely. Quote

FUJILA Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 spent most of yesterday afternoon and some of the evening in the water the wind was great around 15/20 mph and we found a great beach that u can drive onto an setup your gear not far from your car!!! which is great for the girlfriend!! keeps her out of the wind and happy with a book!! the guy that owns and runs the kitemed website was there giving a lesson very cool guy and helpfull as well darrly take a look on his website you may be able to get hold of him on the phone and sort a lesson out!! NOT gona kite today just gonna chill and maybe go wakeboarding later!!! have fun ROB:D Quote

This Kitemed looks good from the website but what is the nearest and best resort I should be looking at in relation to the kite school. I want somewhere lively but not as head banging as ayia napa. I recently came back from Fuerteventura (Corralejo) and whilst I enjoyed it and spent a good two days having lessons with the Flag Beach team, the overall resort was a bit too quiet in terms of night life and seemed a bit of a couples resort. Would somewhere in Cyprus serve my needs? Quote
FUJILA Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 Of back to the beach tomorrow i think it is called menai and it is not far from pervoila and u can see the airport from the beach and the planes going overhead!!! the nearest beach to the airport in called mckencie DO NOT KITE HERE AS IT IS TO CLOSE TO THE AIRPORT AND PLANES HAVE BEEN CANCELD AND PEOPLE HAVE GOT INTO A LOT OF TROUBLE BEFORE FOR THIS Wind is looking good for the next few days then it is due to drop off a little and move round a bit to a sw direction which should be okay i think for ladies mile @mandog cyprus is a small island get a hire car and travel to find the spots we have stayed in protaras before and i prefer this to were we are this time which is called pernia!!! happy flying ROB;) Quote

Would somewhere in Cyprus serve my needs? Mandog, I stayed in Cape Kitti last month and had lessons with Kitemed, Cape Kitti is central to the beaches used which are 5 mins away. A close resort is Larnaca which is a livley-ish place with lots of places to eat but not over the top and is about 15-20mins drive from Kitti. Pander. Quote
