  1. All OK :-) few broken ribs :-( but could have been ALOT worse looking at the pics ov the car!!!!
  2. I went for two weeks September last year, there was only one windy day. I wouldnt waste the money on the excess baggage to be honest! There is plenty to do there and I thought it was a beautiful place. Busses run everywhere for about a pound and you can hire a mountain bike for about £10 a week to go off n explore. Some awsome sea caves there and the water is lovely.
  3. Awsome!! Im 20mins from Faro for Christmas! cant wait!
  4. Ive just gone back to the shorts harness after a month trying to adjust to a waist, general riding isnt much different, toe side is alot easier but my timing was all wrong and I wasted too many sessions trying to get used to it, really just so I could wear different board shorts!!!! I have had the most epic sessions since Sunday and am happy to be back in my shorts harness.
  5. 4cast looking good 4 west shore fri n sat too missy!!!!! would be good to see you again Xx
  6. The Dr didnt know where we all caught 'Egypt belly' I thought it may have been the sea water but our photographer got it to and she didnt go in the sea. Dee is right, not even 3 immodium plus stops it, the stomack pains stop shortly after the injection and you dont need the toilet as frequently within 24hours but as yet no one is 100% back to normal with 6 of us on 4 different courses of anti-biotics, stomack antiseptics and 2 other lots of tablets I havent got a clue what they are! I went to visit Green Sudr Hotel (airspace) whilst I was there and had a sesion on their lagoon-if I go back to Egypt thats where Im going! No rip, no time restrictions and none of the lads over there got sick and they are on their last day, all of them have kited every day! Reading this back it sounds like we didnt have a good time so I just want to say, we had an AMAZING time, the girls were all great and we were even laughing with each other whilst we were having the injections, it was just the restrictions and the sickness that put a dampner on things. There were girls there who got up on their board for the first time and others who nailed tricks from backloops to surface passes, the girls all supported and encouraged each other somuch, all coming home having had a great experience!
  7. A massive 4 knts hey! GUTTED! Any1 think it will pick up, think Im wishing way too much there!

    Charlie

Hearing of your loss and reading your message brought tears to my eyes, so so sad. I didnt know Charlie but he sounds like a valued member of the kiting community. I think Charlies bench will be a place for all who knew him to sit and think of all the happy sessions he had there. Zoe Xx

    Why is it?

Alot ov U guys R on the land, I wear a full face helmet when Im buggyin but yet I dont wear a helmet on the water. Alot ov the land kiters I know do wear helmets when the conditions are hard or they R doin crazy stuf but the kitesurfers dont.

    Why is it?

Ive been asking myself why I dont wear a helmet and why only a small percentage of kiters I know(err actually, only know 1) dont wear 1 either. So I thought I wud find out why the majority ov us dont. Is it..... 1) Because it doesnt look good 2) None of my mates do:confused: 3) Im so damnn good I dont need one;) 4) Its not a dangerous sport so why wud I need a helmet:eek: So, why is it????
  15. This is by far the best post I have read on a forum, I hope that all riders take the advice given here in an really think about the conditions and weva one dodgy session in worth missing months of good sesions waiting for an injury to heal. If U dont know the beach wait til some1 gets there who does, nicer waitin on a beach than in A&E.

  17. Cheers 4 the report. Glad Uve found a high wind kite U like who knows U may even keep this one more than a week!!! ha, ha.
  18. Hey Craig! Im still waitin 4 mine~so yer have nabbed the shop one till I get my own. I keep droppin hints but dont think he's listening! Have been havin a great time on it tho out in 30knts Tue, doin nice floaty jumps and ridein toe side, so really buzzin' as never done any ov the above B4.
  19. Sounds like U had fun!! So, wot did U think of the Atom Colin? Alot of people are sayin its the same as the Ion, but like yourself I didnt get on with the Ion but am doin real well with the Atom-so wot are your thoughts on it?
  20. I have been out on the 9m Atom the past two days and I think its a great kite, real nice to fly! I usually fly Fusions but with the wind at Newbrough gustin upto 30knts yesterday there was no way I cud go out on my Fusion 9 or 7 so, I went out on the Atom, not only have I never been out in wind that strong B4 but I was doin some wkd jumps n really buzzin off floatin through the air, which Ive also never done B4! went out on it again today n was ridin toe side, so in the past two days because of the extra confidence I have ridein the Atom I have done all these new things-so Im pretty buzzin right about now! Achein but buzzin! Oh an another thing U can just let go of the kite n it really does just sit at the edge of the window without any power in it, even when its gusty as hell n blowin 30knts-which I liked. BUT....I dont like the bag as much!
  21. I went out on a 9m Atom yesterday and thought it was great, felt really confident on it, it just makes you want to try new things. I fly Fusions which are great and have tried the Ion a couple of times but didn't get on with it, I went out expecting not to get on with The Atom as I thought it wud be the same as The Ion but it wasn't, it flys more like my Fusion than the Ion but feels safer. I cant give explanations about why or how as I just fly wot feels right.
  22. I tried to contact them but the web page just wants to book a hol or lessons there so I might just take the phone number n call when I get there. I think Ure right tho n Im going to have to drive whilst Im there unless I can get taxis, just dont want to drive abroad. There is a kite beach called 'Sailing Club' which looks as tho its nearest to me, I have just found info on it on kitebeachs.com (great site) its 5km East of Larnaca Harbour-any idea how far that is from Ayia Nappa?
  23. Im goin to Cyprus on the 23rd for two weeks. I dont want to hire a car over there and will be kitein on my own so can any1 tell me where abouts in Lancarna the kite beach is. Im staying by Nissi Beach which is 10 mins walk from Ayia Nappa. Ive read that the wind kicks in around lunch time and blows 15-25knts everyday so was gonna just take my 9, is this true? Has any1 kited on a beachcalled Ladies Mile over there?
  24. I started off on a 10m Venom, I think its a great beginer kite as the auto zenith gives you time to get your board on your feet and think about what your doing without having to think about what your kite is doing and the fact you can just let go when wipein out is also reasuring. I hated launching them though, it can be well dodgy! I never ditched it so cant comment on the water relaunch but have seen others, they do eventually get back in the air and need a little flyin time to dry out but thats it. Once up riding you do have to work the kite more than a LEI and there is a slight delay in reaction. I now fly Fusions, which I love, they react soon as you think it, you can just feel where the kite is and hardly need to work it, there is no question about the consistent power they give U. There was a average size guy with a small girlfriend on the beach, he was a good rider and she was a beginer, they had just bought a new 9m Takoon, this kite was perferct for them both as it gave him the power he neeed but also gave her the depower and safety she needed so find details on them.
