whan i was younger and living with perents there was this wowen that use to flush the kids nappies down the loo. because we were on the end, just on the bend, they would get stuck there. always me with the blue rods trying to unblock it. the women always said it wasnt her fault as it wasnt near her house. glad when she moved.

Still say the Spirit of Salt. I use this stuff on blocked drains at work and it works a treat. Yes, rods will do the trick but it can be messy and a lot of work. S of S is a highly concentrated acid it will just disintegrate anything compacted in the pipe. If it's in the main drain it will probably take a few litres. What have you got to lose? It's easy and if it doesn't work go for the rods.

And be sure to leave it overnight.

Um, girls don't poop. We explode at 40. The stuff you are pulling out isn't the result of a 'phat dump' but more likely to be related to girly events.....

ok its all done now, it wasnt pleasent. i got the drain rods from work and got down to some serious pushing. 10 minutes later the rod broke through into my drain and upon retrival i found the cause of the problem.

now ive heard people saying ''ive just s**t a brick in there'' but this has to be the first case of it actually happening.

 

lots of clean water from the hose made sure the drain was running clear.

 

ive put my waterproof overalls in a sealed bag and in the bin along with my wellies and numerous gloves. ive had a 2 showers and a bath and scrubbed my nails to the point of bleeding.

 

i just dont feel like having anything for tea now.

 

thanks for all the advice guys and gals, oh and lou what girls do in the loo isnt my buisness but surely common sense tells you not to flush a whole toilet roll down in one go!

To be honest Skeer, bricks are a hugely common reason for drains blocking. I say this because as an apprentice in my teens I was routinely shoved down mans holes to relieve the blockage. You would be surprised what Ive pulled out. Usually babies nappy things, ladies things, old womens big pants and one time a complete childs bike with a basket on the front.(in pink)
