popeyethewelder Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 Is anyone going to the British Grand prix from here this year to see if lewis can do the deed on his home track. I'll be there from Thursday onwards Quote
abba Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 Ummmmm NO Complete nd uter rip off this year:mad: Before we've had quali tickets for 40quid a piece, this year its 100quid, that would be 300 for an hour of quali with 3 of us going Thats just on the website, they've stopped 1 day visits nd only offering weekend tickets, dunno if this is different over the phone Quote
harry_a Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 the a1 grand prix is way better to watch, and the tickets are 30 quid. been to brands hatch this year and last and it was wicked! Quote

Adam F Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 the WRCs way better to watch Agreed. Getting up at 6am this morning, climbing up a hill to a stage that we are not supposed to be on is great fun. Some great photos too. http://www.carspottings.co.uk/adam/rally/IMG_2245.jpg http://www.carspottings.co.uk/adam/rally/IMG_2301.jpg http://www.carspottings.co.uk/adam/rally/IMG_2339.jpg I mean, I have respect for F1 drivers, Big respect, but going sideways through a forest takes some doing. Zippy Posted July 1, 2007 Report Posted July 1, 2007 Ill be there Popeye, Hoping to get pitched mega early sun mornin at luffield for the race. fancy a meet? PM me if ya do, ill pass my No on to ya. I'll be there from the Thursday as well Quote
Disco_Bison Posted July 1, 2007 Report Posted July 1, 2007 HAven't been to see the WRC for a few years, but in terms of track racing I'm surprised no one has mentioned the Touring Cars. Much better then anything else at the moment IMO. For a start there's overtaking and the idea of putting the quickest driver at the back makes it more fun as well, at least it gives others a chance and stops the team with the biggest budget running away with the whole thing which is what usually happens Quote
mrbig Posted July 1, 2007 Report Posted July 1, 2007 America's cup.....now thats good watching.....come on NZ...your only 2 races down...... Quote
SeaView Posted July 1, 2007 Report Posted July 1, 2007 Used to go:- Saw Johnny H win there and also Damon. Last couple of years have been pretty Dull and very, very expensive. Usually sat down at Farm or Abbey. Cannot justify the cost anymore. Like to see Lewis win though.... I will be in the Garden with cold beer, the telly and a steak on the barby. Far more civilised. Taunton Posted July 1, 2007 Report Posted July 1, 2007 Used to go when they had the old on-day tickets, but now with the prospect of having to book in advance for all days, and a family that would need 5 tickets:( , too expensive. IF it turns out to be nice sunny weather, Brit winner, cracking atmosphere etc, etc, then it's well worth the money. Can't afford to take a risk of it turning into a Glasto repeat, kids get trench-foot, and boring procession. When the kids have grown up, me and the missus will be back:) We don't mind slumming it:) Quote
Atavar Posted July 1, 2007 Report Posted July 1, 2007 Wait untill 56 seconds and tell me this isn't the king of raceing http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=cgaduw9hPBc Is that a sea fury? EDIT - On this one wait for 1.16, its incredible and much better sound. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ctTeRI06pfU&mode=related&search= Quote

Oh n s for everyone having fun at Silverstone, or in their gardens next w`end,,, make sure ya wear waterproofs,,.. going by long range weather reports,,, wouldnt suprise me if the race gets red flagged........ Quote
Disco_Bison Posted July 1, 2007 Report Posted July 1, 2007 There is a Sea Fury in there somewhere atavar, and for the record they sound even better in real life. I was lucky enough to be at Bournemouth Air Museum when they started up their Sea Fury and were running her out. Got to watch it take off later on followed by a Sea Vixen as well. Two beautiful aircraft in 10 minutes, good day all round Quote
