skyhigh454 Posted March 18, 2007 Report Posted March 18, 2007 hello i have just got a new rs buggy standard wich i love to go out on have some fun but one thing i think looks cool is when you go up on two wheels i have done it befor but did not mean to is ther any way you are ment to do it thanks skyhigh Quote
Plezzy Posted March 18, 2007 Report Posted March 18, 2007 If you're new to buggying then I suggest you learn the basics first. The RS buggy is relatively heavy (built for cruising/speed) and even when you've mastered rolling around with all three wheels on the ground I think you'll struggle to do much freestyle with it. carltb Posted March 18, 2007 Report Posted March 18, 2007 power up. steer away from the kite. steer towards the kite and balance. but mostly you will be having obe's Quote

-LT- Posted March 18, 2007 Report Posted March 18, 2007 skyhigh we have been through this on RK m8 you have not aquired enough buggy skill to achieve this yet its possible in the RS but it needs good kite skills to keep it up i personally dont believe you have that yet again i will say to you be patient and learn to walk before you run Quote
skyhigh454 Posted March 18, 2007 Author Report Posted March 18, 2007 ok thanks but we have not been over it on rk ? Quote
-LT- Posted March 18, 2007 Report Posted March 18, 2007 im refering to your lack of buggy and kite skills can you tack turn?, can you jibe turn?, can you emegency stop?, can you start and finnish in the same spot? ok so not all of us are experts but rule of thumb to most is at least have a basic mastery of floor skills before you try tricks being able to tack back and forth across the window doesnt mean you can buggy im not digging at you m8 i just think that as a noob who has only had a bug for a month you should be more concerned with the basics and getting to grips with it than asking questions about the more advanced stuff. Take your time rome wasnt built in a day you will have more appreciation for it if you do Quote

BoonDock Saint Posted March 24, 2007 Report Posted March 24, 2007 Just listen to what people are saying K.I.S.S., keep it simple stupid You are starting to get an idea of the power of your kite, but what you don't understand is mother nature can throw **** at you that only time and experience will get you through. Slow down, practice your turns, do some quick "S" turns, feel the skids and how to use them to depower your buggy. Practice upwind and downwind turns, try it with your kite high in the window and low next time, like someone in another buggy was right beside you either in the upwind or downwind position. I static fly all my kites to truly learn their abilities and also my flying skills to see if I can do this machine justice. Two new kites I just got haven't seen my Buggy, still learning their quirks, strengths and weakness and my ability to fly them is always challenged. This is what power kiting is all about, learning from others but you won't learn it over night and if you don't listen it will give you an experience that will make you give it the respect it deserves and hopefully you'll walk away from it intact. Dick.tracy Posted March 24, 2007 Report Posted March 24, 2007 Easy folks! Give the guy a break! He is new at this, true, but the fact is that he has had his buggy on two wheels in a turn, yet has enough experience not to be tipped right out (ie steer away) . All he wants now is some help to keep it going. True, he should be concentrating on tacking, jibing, stopping - even reversing is probably more important, but the excitement of something new is what brought us all to this sport. If we do the same thing every trip out we soon get bored. With the RS, to help with freestyle in general, I would mount the rear axle with tabs upward, and raise the seat a little more than normal. This will raise your centre of gravity, and make it easier to tip on two wheels. Practicing this, always wear your helmet, proper clothing (no shorts!) and gloves, because you'll probably spend more time on the floor than in your buggy! Good luck, and be safe! Quote
