I'll let 13window explain if he wants to, as he's the victim here. Not my place.

Well thanks to Mr ebay detective 'Steve' we know that this bloke dosn't know anything about it and if he is genuine then we've been 'had' and probably won't see our money again:mad: Once ebays 10 days are up then we can inform the police and let them deal with it.

I know this sort of thing goes on alot and people have been done for much more than we have, went out and got VERY drunk last night which made us feel slighly better (until this morning anyhow!)

So have you not got your money back yet?

Nope, have to wait now and see what the police can do, probably legged it by now though, but just have to hope that they catch the scum.

Most annoying thing is that we are going snowboarding next month and bought it to take with us and time all this **** is prob sorted out it will be too late and can't afford to fork out for another one. Not Happy:mad:

But what happened though? (Apart from Steve laying out 6 armed kick boxing champions?)

Was the guy at the address the one who'd put up the ad?

Come on... Jeremy Kyle has nothing on you guys :)

(On a serious note, I completely hope things get sorted for you)

I turned up at the guy's house. I was very firm, but open and not threatening (cos that would have got me nowhere, bloodbath fans  ). Told him briefly that he owed lots of money/a camera lens to 'a friend' and we needed to discuss it, like now. He was obviously very non-plussed, invited me in and I told him that he had 'sold a lens on ebay, had £560 transferred to his account and had failed to deliver the goods', what's going on?

He has an unusual name which is how we came to get his address when I asked around - turns out he lives on the same street as a friend.

Claims he knows nothing of it and am inclined to believe him - I was quite pushy, but I honestly think he's been a victim of phishing - someone has used an account set up in his name and sold fraudulently. He was very cooperative, freely gave his number and welcomed any call from 13window, and would cooperate fully with any questions the police may have. His wife came in halfway through and she obviously knows nothing either. I was watching all hawklike for any signs that they were hiding anything. They're just an innocent couple in their late 50's and been exploited I reckon.

Just feel so bad for Sam (13window) and hope sincerely he can get some resolution and his cash back. A lesson for all I reckon - ebay with caution folks! :(

(I can go back and hit him anyway if it makes you all feel better  );)

Thanks for clearing that up Steve, explained a bit better than I did! At least there are still some decent guys around who are willing to help out in situations like this.

I will keep you all updated but unfortunatley the police won't do anything until the 10 days are up (Dunno if that's 10 day days or 10 working days?)

And a couple of 'virtual' pints for Steve!
