T595 Posted May 17, 2008 Report Posted May 17, 2008 Alan - Lines reminder, if you want them so say so or i'll put em on the for sale forum. Anyone - I need to borrow a 3ish metre or smaller for a day i.e. tomorrow as i am spending time with my 11 nephew who is keen to fly, anyone got a small kite i can borrow? (forget it the little **** would rather go and look at steam rollers and other cr@p like that, ungrateful little fecker)
avspider Posted May 17, 2008 Report Posted May 17, 2008 I'd love to go, but it's all the rest:eek: Thats cos its a bloody long way! 3 hr drive, and the best beach in the country - NO soft area's
martin Posted May 17, 2008 Report Posted May 17, 2008 T595 - i've just got hold of the SEKA kites for taster sessions at Soton kite fest if your nephew changes his mind. I've also got the loan of a 8.5m Sabre:D. Just got in from a day at Camber sands, absolutely knackered. I came second in one buggy race:D

The tyre are some scary sh!t! I was drifting across the damp grass at LH today, take a bit of getting used to i think, carving is hard with these tyres. Not have as hard as watching a bloke fly his 13m Instinct badly tho... How did you get on in the landboard racing? Btw does anyone want a PL Libre 3 wheeled old mans thing? Said same guy said he had one for sale. Got a number if anyone is interested....
avspider Posted May 18, 2008 Report Posted May 18, 2008 Anybody playing today ? I think we might be, as long as there's wind:D
Fat Bloke Posted May 18, 2008 Report Posted May 18, 2008 The trees are "flapping" at the moment - though I haven't been over yet
avspider Posted May 18, 2008 Report Posted May 18, 2008 It'll be lunchtime ish, as some are still sleep, and others off to sort the garden
UpInSmoke Posted May 18, 2008 Report Posted May 18, 2008 I'll be out down at LH in the next hour or so, may even bring the buggy!
martin Posted May 18, 2008 Report Posted May 18, 2008 T595 - I've not even fitted the Strikers yet, i was hoping to fit them to my Exit hubs but looks like they'll just "pop off" when inflated. I'll have to fit them to my Primo Alphas. Did you meet Steve at PS, he said he was going down there today? I've got all the stuff for the Soton fest in my shed now so i hope your'e all going to come along. I'll still have the Sabre then as well for anyone who wants a play, comes with a harness as well:D. I came second in each board race, 4th in the first buggy race & 2nd in the other buggy race. I need my big tyres to get across that sand with any speed. I'm just about to stick an A08 vid in the video section, nothing spectacular though.
martin Posted May 18, 2008 Report Posted May 18, 2008 Seeing as eveyone & his dog got to fly today & i didn't:mad:, i'm taking the Sabre to LH this evening cos i can't wait until next weekend to give it a go.
T595 Posted May 18, 2008 Report Posted May 18, 2008 What's Steve got? Met a few people today, Dave & Steve (Blade 4.9 & some pansh's) and another guy with a Radsail 5.5 & new MBS core95. The wind was all over the place and it was suggested to me that i try out southsea common sometime soon as it supposedly 'great fun' to fly there. What's parking like though? And your old tyres are still scaring me....
martin Posted May 18, 2008 Report Posted May 18, 2008 Steve flew an Access i think. PS aint much good in a Nrthly, may as well go to LH. There's 3-4 hours free parking on Western parade on the far edge of Southsea common by the big apartments building. I allways park there & walk across the field. The SEKA kite i got is a 9.5m Sabre 11. not what i said earlier. I took it to LH this PM & didn't get on with it very well, bloody thing won't do as it's told:o.

Martin a STRONG word of warning about tyre's, anything turf's or aggressive for grass, are a nightmare on sand/muddy sand:eek:. To go fast on sand, if it's hard enough then barrows or discs. If it's reasonable then bigfoot lights, IF it's really soft then full bigfoots. any tyre's with grip - ie turfs/scorpions etc WILL slow you down, the more the grip the slower you go!

There was a guy with depower there but he was some distance away, and i couldn't be bothered to go and talk to him (well actually there were 4 people)
avspider Posted May 19, 2008 Report Posted May 19, 2008 Looking back on yesterday, we had a lovely time flying albeit a tad bumpy, and a lovely BBQ, just need it to be a bit warmer
avspider Posted May 20, 2008 Report Posted May 20, 2008 Some nice cheap kites for sale here; http://community.flexifoil.com/showthread.php?p=1748777#post1748777
avspider Posted May 21, 2008 Report Posted May 21, 2008 How was LH mate? Looking at the direction forecast and weather the weekend, I think it best we stay local
g0nz01599968659 Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 Deffed it actually. Looked alright at work but by the time I walked home it was pretty flat calm. Went for a walk in the garden & took some pics instead. See Facebook for the results:) Had a good session yesterday tho:D Im feeling pretty battered - note to self about landing back loops properly! Got some nice pics of C in the buggy. If anyones going out this eve drop me a txt & I might turn up with the camera. Dan
