avspider Posted February 4, 2008 Report Posted February 4, 2008 When passing LH yesterday afternoon i saw an ambulance leaving the car park. Was anyone hurt there yesterday? YES it was adx medic, and i'm off work now with a spasam in my neck - partially due the doc recons to the chill of the wind yesterday and then speeping oddly - I recon it's got more to do with the large amount of cider yesterday afternoon and snoozing on the sofa:eek:

g0nz01599968659 Posted February 4, 2008 Report Posted February 4, 2008 Blimey - just spent 15minutes catching up! AV - u big girl:p get well soon xxx Did anyone see what soton met was clocking the wind at Sunday?? We stoped for a look at WS and there were white caps in soton water! Adz - OUCH! Enjoy the drugs then get back out there (erm, dont drink with diazepam;)-hehehe) Martin - Thank you for looking into the field - My dad came up with a good plan for it (he used to be a farmer). Rent half to us and half to graze a load of sheep on. Swap the sheep from one half to the other when you want to fly on the nice short grass that they have eaten down for you. Sheep will graze the grass REALLY short. You keep the sheep in an electric fenced area so moving them aroung is easy. He said that they will flatten out the lumps when they walk around on it to... although rolling with a 3 ton roller is the way to go initially to get it flat. That way we dont pay to mow it and there is more income generated from the field by the sheep. (Already I have a vision of Step turning up with no kites and a pair of wellies;) ) Dan
Fat Bloke Posted February 4, 2008 Report Posted February 4, 2008 Hello all:) not sure who will be interested but here are a few pics of what Sam (my son) was doing last week. Please forgive the proud parent lapse;)

martin Posted February 5, 2008 Report Posted February 5, 2008 I've been trying to work out the acres of the field. I came to just under 30 acres:eek:, is this right; 740m x 160m = 118400 = 29.25. .......................4047 That's nearly 30 acres:eek:. I thought acres were huge.
g0nz01599968659 Posted February 5, 2008 Report Posted February 5, 2008 A footy pitch is ~an acre I think - hectares are the BIG measurement (don't ask I cant remember) So I dont suppose you are far off at 30 acres. Dan Edit - Hectare is 1000m^2 so our field is about 12ish Hectares.... I've been trying to work out the acres of the field.
