T595 Posted January 28, 2008 Report Posted January 28, 2008 x 1000!!!!!!! I had the best kite session yesterday at PS! Constant 10-12mph winds, i even flew upwind up hill! (ok it was a little slope but it was still uphill) Two hours of the best times flying this year! No gusty winds, no boggy ground (or at least not too much) and best of all no dogs! Unless i have no choice i won't be flying again at LH, WS & PS are now the way forward, no more gusty winds for me!
g0nz01599968659 Posted January 28, 2008 Report Posted January 28, 2008 Sweet sesh at WS Saturday! Im knackered now - its been too long since we had a good sesh:D http://photos-c.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sf2p/v191/103/4/840280555/n840280555_2138502_2895.jpg

martin Posted January 28, 2008 Report Posted January 28, 2008 Love the pic Dan. I've always said i'd rather have half an hour of clean wind than 2-3 hours of $hitty lumpy stuff. It's sessions like these that remind us of why we do it & how good it can be. That's why WW is well worth the hour journey to me. Roll on A08:D.
adz medic Posted January 28, 2008 Report Posted January 28, 2008 i might be getting a second hand rs buggy from a guy over isle of wight for £110 inc £10 p&p is that good guys he says that it is in good condition still waiting to find out wot size axle it is
martin Posted January 28, 2008 Report Posted January 28, 2008 Sounds good, depends on axles size, tyres, swan neck, back rest, seat. All these are upgrades or have been improved/added over the years. Has he sent any pics? It is a Ralf buggy & not a Rad Sail????
adz medic Posted January 28, 2008 Report Posted January 28, 2008 no pics yet i will ave a word i dont know if it is a ralf or a radsail he just said rs will leave him a pm i think cheers for the advice m8
adz medic Posted January 28, 2008 Report Posted January 28, 2008 its m1ck i might be buying it from take a look at his list of toys
adz medic Posted January 28, 2008 Report Posted January 28, 2008 just had it confirmed it is a ralf buggy all standard getting pics tomorrow m8
CrashMatt Posted January 28, 2008 Report Posted January 28, 2008 Just got a Ralph buggy, 07 version with the hoop and 1.5m rear axle, paid £150 for it but it's virtually new with the little nobbly bits on the tyres still there. Really pleased with it, just hoping there will be enough wind to give it a go this week down at WS or PS.
martin Posted January 28, 2008 Report Posted January 28, 2008 I'm off Wednesday onwards this week, give us a nod when you're going out & i'll try & join you. I'm hoping to go to WW on Thursday. What's the hoop???
CrashMatt Posted January 28, 2008 Report Posted January 28, 2008 What's the hoop??? Sorry, thats the bit behind the seat on the 2007 onward versions, a back rest if you like. The origional ones didn't have it, although you can retro fit it. The other thing to bare in mind is apparently the seat on the earlier RS' was non too comfy for any prolonged use.
CrashMatt Posted January 28, 2008 Report Posted January 28, 2008 Martin, I'll certainly let you know what I am up to as a buggy newbie any tips would be welcomed
martin Posted January 28, 2008 Report Posted January 28, 2008 How does the backrest fit? I was wondering how to fit one to my bug, a tube clamp can't be fitted over the seat rail like i done on my PL because of the axle clamps on the ends. It has to be something that opens up & then closes over the rails?
CrashMatt Posted January 28, 2008 Report Posted January 28, 2008 This is a little crude but it gives you some idea.. http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd114/Crashmatt28/hoop.jpg
avspider Posted January 28, 2008 Report Posted January 28, 2008 Backrests are well worth fitting, I had mine set low as possible for safety reasons on the pogona
avspider Posted January 28, 2008 Report Posted January 28, 2008 If anybody is interested, the ultimate parastorm is coming up for sale on ebay very soon. inc the ONLY camber kit for the 'phoons in excistance
martin Posted January 28, 2008 Report Posted January 28, 2008 Ta. I can see why all the pics i've seen of the RS are well padded, I wouldn't want to catch my elbow on that. I've just been looking at Tube Clamps & they do a "clamp on Tee" that might fit my bug.
martin Posted January 28, 2008 Report Posted January 28, 2008 If anybody is interested, the ultimate parastorm is coming up for sale on ebay very soon. inc the ONLY camber kit for the 'phoons in excistance Not yours????
avspider Posted January 28, 2008 Report Posted January 28, 2008 nope not mine, it's nicknamed "Phoonella". a mk2 parastorm like mine PLUS; wide axle camber kit (only one ever made) bigfoot forks (only one's i think ever made) and the bags for it. mental bit of kit, but I couldn't use the camber kit in the race that i do, but the wide axle would be good. Anybody else up for some fun racing this yr?
martin Posted January 28, 2008 Report Posted January 28, 2008 I'm thinking about entering the SEKA races, first one is next month at Newbury. I don't know if i can be bothered in travelling to Camber though. Obviously not as big as BKSC races.

I don't know if i can be bothered in travelling to Camber though. Obviously not as big as BKSC races. The S/C racing is great fun, and get to fly on the best beachs in the country, and get to fly flat out against other, battling with someone at 40+mph into a mark is always fun only inch's apart. I'll never forget the time i was approaching chris tinker (eek)'s back axle at high speed, to see Dan trainor (legoman) going under my lines. I got within a couple of inch's of chris before i could go under his lines. It was blowing 25mph, 6.8m razor, barracuda on discs doing 45+mph and almost sideswiping the discs. But there was no way i was going to slow down
martin Posted January 29, 2008 Report Posted January 29, 2008 I'm nipping down to WS for an hour or so:D & i had a go on CrashMatts RS buggy, nice one dude. They feel quite solid & not as heavy as i expected. Might want a bit more tread on them barrows in the winter though otherwise you'll be sliding everywhere. Trailer tyres will do.
