martin Posted November 17, 2008 Report Posted November 17, 2008 I'll be going to Greatstone, Kent this Saturday. If anyone fancies a day at the beach & wants to help out a little with fuel...................
avspider Posted November 17, 2008 Report Posted November 17, 2008 Sorry Martin, looking at the forecast, I think it would be foolish to go to Greatstone. As it's looking like 25+mph off shore (NW)!! The Ho would be better as it's no further, and NW facing?? ah i see it's a Seka do
martin Posted November 19, 2008 Report Posted November 19, 2008 Yep, it's the last race of the series. I'm going to WW tomorrow if anyone else is off, it's an early one though.
jack-son Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 Anyone about this w/e? I might come over for a first fly with my guerilla. If u see a guy being dragged all over the field that's me:D. I might even get a board by Saturday. But I doubt I'll dare to use it.
martin Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 WW was good today even if it wasn't the ideal direction. It was just cross on & gave me a good run following the waters edge. Buggying into the sun at 07.30 & luvly orange sky:).
T595 Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 Where are you going to be? Salisbury or LH or even PS.....?
martin Posted November 21, 2008 Report Posted November 21, 2008 There's some serious wind comming........& cold
g0nz01599968659 Posted November 21, 2008 Report Posted November 21, 2008 Its a mid day low tide this w/e:rolleyes: Whats the dealio with flying at WW then? Can anyone go there or do you have to be a member of their funny handshake brigade? Im just trying to work out the best place to go where I can surf & C can buggy/board in a NW'ly with no water..... Weston is the only other place but that will be horrible & gusty in a N'ly:rolleyes: Mudeford?? I dunno. Has anyone walked across LH to see how muddy it is? questions questions:)
martin Posted November 21, 2008 Report Posted November 21, 2008 WW is a no no but EW is OK. You could both set up where i did last time & C could buggy up to WW. It's pretty flat land round that area so the wind might be OK. C would deffo have to buggy towards WW if it's cross winds to get the wider beach though. EW is popular with kite surfers, wind surfers & surfers. If i wasn't going to Greatstone, i'd go to EW tomorrow. I'll probably go to WW on Tuesday in a Northly.
T595 Posted November 21, 2008 Report Posted November 21, 2008 no car, any chance of a lift for my kit tomorrow to LH Al?
avspider Posted November 21, 2008 Report Posted November 21, 2008 I would dude, but Sarah will be with me, and what with a mountain of kites, and 2 buggies, not for you, but for your kit yes. If you don't hear from me, give me a call tomorrow

T595 Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 you mean get out of bed and look out the window? The wind has dropped off here at Mansel park, about 5-8mph...
avspider Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 you mean get out of bed and look out the window? The wind has dropped off here at Mansel park, about 5-8mph... Still no wind, and it looks dark gloomy outside:mad:

avspider Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 If anybody fancies trying racing. It looks like they will be running a novice class and a standard class. Oh when I say "they" I mean the PKA. I will be going to a couple of the races. But also the clsc club racing. Even though I have raced (supercup) I know the pka clan, they welcome anybody to race - or at least try! They will always help and encourage you, I've even seen the marshalls pushing buggies!! The size /amount/quality of kite is not an issue, neither is the buggy as long it's safe. But a word of warning, the closest race is pembrey. But hey I'm always up for going there!!
